We felt us welcome in this cute and clean hotel! The owner was very friendly and gave us useful tips how to spend our time and where to eat with our family of five. Magnificent views over the river Douro! Good location to stay in and visit the quintas. Tunsimme perheemme tervetulleeksi tähän suloiseen ja siistiin hotelliin Douron rannalla. Omistaja... More

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Douro in Pinhao. The owner gives valuable advices in English and the staff is very friendly - it's just a welcoming atmosphere at Hotel Douro. The building is nice and charming, the rooms are spotless clean, the bed comfortable and the views spectacular. All in all, I think it was the best... More

We booked a twin room for 2 nights, including breakfast over the internet through the Hotel's website. Luiś was very prompt in replying to all emails. Hotel Duoro is a lovely family run small hotel and it is very well located. Just across from the rail station, in the centre of town and overlooking the river. Luiś (I think) graciously... More

This was my 2nd time staying here. I didn't even bother looking for other accommodations. This family owned hotel is great. They help with everything, it's centrally located, it's clean and it's same. And for the price, you really can't go wrong here. Had a room overlooking the street/river. Just loved it. The view is spectacular. Do yourself a favor... More

Good place to stopover. We were traveling from central Portugal to a resort property in the Douro. Stopped at the Hotel Douro for one night. The rooms a re small but adequate for a stopover. Clean accommodations, with good aircon. Friendly and very helpful service. The location is good--right across from the train station. Parking on the street across from... More

We made a reservation for this hotel a few days before arriving, which was good because they were fully booked up when we got there (Luis was waiting for us, and holding our reservation). We had two rooms on the top floor with small balconies (no seating) but a nice view of the river and the mountains beyond (and the... More

The Hotel Duoro is a lovely place to stay in this picturesque village. Rooms overlook the river and terraced vineyards, and it is relaxing to watch the scene on the river. Luis is a great host - very friendly, gave us advice on local tours, restaurants, and where to go. Breakfasts were fine, particularly the homemade jam on the croissants.... More

Our double room was small but very comfortable with a super clean bathroom, including bidet, bath and shower! We sat on our balcony to enjoy the wonderful views of the Douro and Pinhao. Luis was very welcoming, and spoke English. His mother made a wonderful breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Our room was small but bright, with a small balcony and was overall very clean. The room overlooked the river. The location was very convenient - almost across the street from the train station. The bathroom had a wonderful large bath tub. The room was not fancy at all, but had all the basics and was reasonably priced. We would... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are in the Pinhão...Pinhão is a village from the Alijó County, located on the right side of the Douro River. This little town is also one of the most beautiful places of Portugal. The peaceful village has an area of about 300 acres.Pinhão is 17 kilometres far from the county seat Alijó and 38 kilometres from the capital of the district, Vila Real. The toponymy of Pinhão is justified by the fact that you can find there the junction of the Pinhão River, which is an affluent of the Douro. Pinhão is located on the very heart of the Upper Douro Region. It`s a village where the astonished landscape is dominated by the mountain, shaped in terraces all along the Douro River. The quality and the good reception of our house make the difference. ... more   less
