I was supposed to stay for 4 days but I left after 2 and found a new hotel. The staff was short and hardly friendly. I am un familiar with the area and was seeking guidance but was offered nothing. This is the on-base Navy Gateway Inn, so if you don't have DoD ID, doubt you'll be able to use this, plus you'll need your DoD ID (CAC card) to check in. That said, what a very nice place and only $56! There are at least two kinds of rooms - singles and suites. I stayed in a single. The... More

I have stayed at NGIS Norfolk on all my TAD trips to Norfolk (except one) and they never disappoint. Yes, some of the buildings are older (Breezy Pt) but the rooms are renovated, roomy and extremely comfortable. This is for military only, active and retired, but the stay was wonderful. The base is clean and easy to get around. The NEX has great stuff to purchase.
