This is an old hotel with lots of charm and personality but quirks. It was worth the price to me. The room was huge, the elevator tiny, old & slow, the beds super comfy, the bathroom updated and basic, the lobby interesting. If you like your hotel unique and well situated then this is it. We parked our car on... More

The best thing about this place? The location. TONS of places to walk to from here. Next best thing is a friendly and helpful staff. Otherwise it's not a great value. I wouldn't call it run down, just tired. Small rooms, suspect water heater, curtains insufficient to block out light, just some of the little annoyances. A healthy facelift is... More

I recently spent a week at the Tazewell when I travelled to Norfolk for business. I've been going to Norfolk off and on for about 10 years now, but this was my first stay at the Tazewell. Overall, I had a good experience with the hotel. The bed was comfortable with a selection of pillows; the water pressure and temperature... More

The parking is pretty much insane if you don't want to pay $15 to park in the hotel parking garage. It is old, quirky, and outdated. Be forewarned elevator is TINY and a little scary on functioning. I knew ahead of time that it was out dated but my daughter had stayed there without issue so we gave it a... More

Wife & I stayed the night staff was friendly and room was clean. We loved the location ( mall, restaurants and bars) all in walking distance. This isn't a new hotel and it could use a little fix here and there but overall enjoyed the stay !!!!!!!

My wife & I ran the Harbor Lights half marathon and this hotel was less than a 5 minute walk from the start. We found the room to be very clean and comfortable but slightly worn. The staff were friendly and quite helpful. The location is just great. We arrived on Friday night and did not move the car until... More

The room itself was not bad... Dressers were not clean from previous customers, bathroom fan didn't work, shower water pressure was low, tv lost reception when you sneezed, and front desk girl was nice...but clueless. Parking was reasonable. Hotel should be in better shape. Located on Granby, near everything. Walk down the street, look right, and BAM!! Battleship!

This is an old hotel which is right in the center of Norfolk City. I can forgive it any of it's quirky bits because of the location and the price. With eateries only one door away and a pharmacy only a door or so away, most everything I could want was right on my doorstep. The staff were very friendly... More

I just stayed a couple of nights at The Tazewell on a business trip to Norfolk. This was my third stay there. It's an affordable, safe, clean hotel in a superb location. The history is a bonus. I have noticed some critical reviews, so I looked more closely this time, but I didn't see any dirt or anything that bothered... More

Built in 1906 so this place does have its problems but it also has a lot of charm. If you are quirky and like quirky you should check it out. It has a little bit of a haunted feel to it but in no way is it a bad energy. It's actually really comforting. The room we stayed in was... More
