We stayed here for a long weekend, while househunting. The good: The hotel itself is lovely, the lobby in particular. There is a Starbucks kiosk in the lobby in the morning -- a very nice touch. The service is outstanding. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, before you even ask for help! When we got to our room I called... more

We came in after a cruise and had requested an early check in since we had all our bags with us (short walk from the cruise ship terminal). They were so accommodating. It was a perfect location!!! We walked down Granby St to eat, the lovely MacCarthur mall is close by and you can even walk down to the waterfront... more

The GOOD: A great location within walking distance of most attractions. Parking is a bit pricey in a High Rise, City owned lot, but it adjoins the hotel and is accesable by an elevated glass covered ramp. The staff was friendly and couteous. FREE cookies [ very good ] on the front desk. A nice touch. A real joy was... more

As a convention planner, I stay and visit alot of hotels. The staff of the Marriott Norfolk is one of the best I have ever worked with---and definitely the most friendly! Any requests were handled professionally, swiftly and with a smile. It is quite unusual to have EVERY staff encounter be so pleasant. This property appears very well-managed even through... more

I had an attractive room with a pleasant view, but it took some time to get into the room, and the staff were not paricularly accomodating. When I finally got to the room, it was very cold and the thermostat didn't appear to work.. The "engineer" who arrived to adjust the heat set the thermostat at 88o and was admused... more

I have stayed at this hotel about 10 times over the years. The best thing about this hotel is the location. Located near Granby Street, there are many good options for dinner, bars, nightlife in the area. I highly recomend Todd Jurich's Bistro, Empire Little Bar, and Havanna - all within a few blocks. There is also a Shula's restaurant... more

Thank you for being a frequent and loyal guest. We take great pride in the friendly and professional service you have experienced during your stays. We are presently upgrading our televisions to 32" flat screens and have plans to have all rooms completed in the near future. We have also just finished a complete renovation of our workout facility. PS....

My husband and I stayed here for Valentine's Day. I reserved a harbor view double/king room. I requested a king bed, and to be on the highest floor possible. When I arrived on the 14th, I was greeted by very friendly staff and was able to check in early. They put me in a corner room on the 22nd floor... more

Stayed here for a week for business. Average rooms and amenities. Hotel is convienently located in the city center of Norfolk and easily walkable to most attractions. Very nice gym with lots of cardio & Nautilus equipment and a decent size pool on the 6th floor if I remember correctly. more

Splendid property: Great location, seriously impressive lobby (particularly for a chain location in a small-market city) with very convenient Internet stations. Cheerful staff (particularly in the gift shop and check-in), modern furniture, immaculate everywhere. The waterfront view from the restaurant at night is fabulous. So this ought to be a five-star for the price, but .... The pool is exclusively... more

Stayed for 2 nights over the weekend for a wedding. Although the hotel was booked to capacity... I didn't feel it was crowded. Our room had 2 queen beds. It was very clean, but small for the two of us. Pool was nice (although I didn't use it). All the employees were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here... more
