We spent a pleasant evening touring the wine cellar and enjoying a very good meal at Castello Vicchiomaggio. Worth the visit. Take your camera with you for some excellent opportunities for photographs

Our tour stopped for wine tasting and a delightful tour. Highly recommended! Good wine, light snacks and delightful tour guides. We purchased a case of wine which was delivered within 30 days. We sat around and listened to the guide tell us stories of the rooster and how to determine if you are truly drinking a Chianti wine

If you choose to stay on an evening where they are only catering to bus guests you will need to drive to town or incur a 40 euro taxi ride into town for dinner. There is absolutely nothing available for hotel guest to eat or drink in the evening. The breakfast the next day was fantastic so they are capable... More

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Castello Vicchiomaggio. The property is gorgeous, set atop a mountain with 360 degree views of stunning vineyards and Tuscan countryside. We stayed in the Canonica building, in a very large, comfortable and spotless room. The staff is helpful and friendly as well as efficient (a minor maintenance issue was addressed immediately). The breakfast... More

You will approach the castello from a beautiful, l-o-n-g driveway which takes you through vineyards and woods, to your hilltop accommodation. I don't think anyone could fail to be excited at the prospect of staying in a castle and we were no exception. We were shown to our apartment which was located through the courtyard on the first floor of... More

Our stay at Castello Vicchiomagio in late September was wonderful. It is a real castle and associated buildings and is a working vineyard/winery. The views are spectacular and it was fun watching them pick grapes as we were there for the harvest. Our room was lovely and very clean and a nice size, especially by European standards. We stayed in... More

We just got back from our trip and Castello Vicciomaggio is one of the most memorable places during our time in Italy. A special thank you to Frederica and the rest of the reception staff for your hospitality! We loved the stay so much that we decided to extend our time in Greve and the staff was very nice to... We stayed on a Monday night and did the Tuscan banquet - i'd highly recommend doing this. You learn about the history of the castello, how they make the wine and have a tour then sample 5 wines and enjoy a traditional 4 course Tuscan meal. One of the team play the piano and sing during the meal which made... More

We stayed at Castello on our tour through Tuscany. The room was very nice but there was absolutely no hospitality. We were told that restaurant will be closed for dinner just find out that they were serving dinner that night for 200 people. When we have asked if they could serve us a dinner as well,we were told that they... More

An excellent location on a hilltop in rural Tucany overlooking expansive grape growing fields . Unfortunately we were not accomodated in the old castle but the newer accomodation area . Whilst the facilities were very good bathroom toilteries were missing . Shared facilities - ie a fridge and lounge area proved to be a real boon as peoples from Australia... More
