My wife and I fell in love with this place and the surrounding area. Tuscany is my sort of place with the best of food, wine and people. The Castello Vicchiomaggio was wonderful. The family ownership shows in their service and attention to detail. Loved and can't wait to go back.

Perfect views, perfectly quiet, delicious wines. We enjoyed a lovely vineyard tour followed by a 6 course dinner. Our server was also our entertainer, playing covers of the Beatles on a grand piano in the main castle. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I would agree with some of the other reviewers in saying that you should not expect a great deal - if any - interaction with the owners. We stayed for several days toward the end of the season and had a very nice time. We stayed in the annex which we enjoyed because we didn't want to have to climb... More

My husband and I stayed here from Oct. 21,2014 thru Oct.23,2014. It was such a magical stay. Our room was a suite superior which gave us a lovely sitting room, a spacoius bedroom and a beautiful window in the bathroom that provided us each morning with a glorious view as we washed our face and brushed our teeth. We felt... More

Just a few kilometers North of Greve, Castello Vicciomaggio is the ideal base for a week in Chianti. Set in beautiful, scenic grounds amongst one of Italy's best vineyards, this historic castle was a great choice. From the tour of the wineries to the set dinner, our experience was a great one. Proximity to many other wineries and restaurants as... More

You may be thinking by the title of the review that I might have been blind when staying at Vicchiomaggio. A wonderful castello situated on the top of a hill, rolling Tuscan countryside and peace and serenity all around. However, we stayed for three nights in the annexe. This was a recently updated/built addition to the estate and therefore lacked... More

We stayed for 3 nights. Before we booked, the website does say it's a working vineyard first and foremost - I'd agree with that as although the accommodation is good we didn't feel very welcomed. The location is superb and the infinity pool fantastic. The rooms are a little small, we stayed in the accommodation away from the castle. If... More

This place is absolutely stunning. We were only here for one night as we traveled through Tuscany, but I could easily see staying here for a week and using it as a base to travel the area. The grounds are gorgeous, the castello magnificent, our suite (Galileo) spacious and well appointed, and the breakfast was the best we've had in... More

My Wife and I spent 2 nights here this trip. We were last here 6 years ago and it was better this time only because we knew what to do and expect. This is the place to go if you want to do a little driving around (less than 2 hours each day) and then come back to the Castle... More

My wife and I found this little gem via Google after having some of their wines in the US. We booked one night initially as we already had plans for the rest of our stay in the Tuscany region. But we were so blown away by the beauty of the place, the fun we had with Innes during the wine... More
