The Vignamaggio was so much better than what we expected. Their website does not do it justice. We wanted to do agritourism without spending an arm and a leg. We chose the Vignamaggio for price and location. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. We had 2 rooms between the 4 of us, and both... More

We stayed for 2 nights in room #11 (Cassacia). This was a small cottage near the main villa. I expected limited service after reading the other postings and experienced the same "hands off" approach during booking and during our stay. We checked in and were shown to our room, but were not offered a tour or additional information on the... More

We spent some days in this property with a group of friends. The area is beautiful and Vignamaggio is a bit isolated but the views are really enchanting. The facilities are nice and all our rooms were well decorated. The only negative mark was the reception service, which was shabby and quite unprofessional. Whenever we asked for information there were... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in October of 2006. Unfortunately, I cannot say glowing things about it as others have. Other than the magnificent grounds, I left feeling that the place is very average. My main complaint was the staff. I found them to be very apathetic, bordering on rude. I got this impression almost immediately... More

It's not fair that some people get to visit the Villa Vignamaggio and others don't. My wife and I spent 2 days there at the end of an 8-day vacation in Tuscany, and we kept wishing we had spent the entire time at the Vignamaggio. Every morning and every evening I opened the windows to our room and was stunned... More

This was our favorite stay of our entire trip to Italy. This is located in the heart of the Chianti region. Greve-in-Chianti is 10 minutes away, which has a nice wine store, Le Cantine. The grounds and rooms of the vineyard are spectacular. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated and even through the building... More

Vignamaggio is a gorgeous place, truly magical. Its easy to see why they filmed a movie here. Its full of history but with all the modern conveniences. The wine in the hallway is a great touch too. The views are outstanding and it provides a good location for the northern part of Chianti Row. The staff were very helpful. The... More

This was our first trip to Tuscany and I will say it was better than I could have every imagined. We stayed at the Villa Vignamaggio for five nites. We had rented a car and used the Villa as a base. It turned out to be the perfect choice. It is up a windy hill in Greve in Chianti but... More

We spent four nights in a lovely little cottage (#11) with a tiny kitchenette and patio. Even though it rained most of the time, we loved it. Great bed, big bathroom with a much-needed jacuzzi tub. My husband definitely enjoyed the well equipped exercise room and we both had a nice stroll around the grounds, which are romantic and so... More

Vignamaggio is an absolutely breathtaking villa right in the heart of Tuscany. Being there is like walking inside a postcard. Breakfast on the patio was delicious and romantic. We overheard one party talking about having a wedding there, and I can see why the bride chose that location: it's quintessential Tuscany, far better than any depiction in a movie or... More
