Property- we stayed in the 2-bedroom apt of a 3-storey old house ( 6 nights in June 2012); it was peaceful & quiet, perched near a hill top. Woke up to birds chirping and lots of greenery in the area, great view of the Tuscan valley. The rooms were well maintained and clean, spacious lounge & kitchen. Shower door needs... More

This place conjures images of a Tuscan painting. A nice villa situated on top of a hill with a small dirt road and olive trees on both sides. Our family stayed here for a week and we just loved the place. It is a bit far from Florence itself but since we opted to rent a car, we made quick... More

Our stay with Alberto and Donatella at La Pietra Grezza was – in two words – perfectly perfect! We were familiar with much of Italy, having taught two years in Apulia three years prior, yet never made time to seriously explore the Tuscan region. So …. in Sept/Oct we returned, and thanks to the advice of our gracious hosts, the... More

Over the last two years we have stayed in 'La Lilac' the top flat at 'La Pietra Grezza'. The first time was for six months so we have seen two of the seasons in Tuscany. The second time was sadly only for 10 days and we wished we were there yet again for six months! It is a place that... More

For the past seven months I've been renting the middle apartment, "Antico Camino." I've only praise for it, and also for Alberto, the owner, who lives in the ground floor apartment of the converted three-storey, 18th C. hunting lodge some 21 km SE of central Florence. Alberto manages to be both extremely helpful and caring of his guests and property,... More

If you want to stay in the country but close to Florence - this is a wonderful place to base your explorations. Up on a hill, above a small village near Rignano - you will find a welcoming host - Alberto - who will provide you with local information in addition to a large comfortable apartment. The apartment is part... More

My husband and I were so lucky to find this place! It comprises 3 stories - the owner lives on the bottom floor and there are 2 apartments above. The Lilac apartment (where we stayed) is the top apartment with its own private garden - sunlounges and BBQ. The apartment was beautifully peaceful - in the morning the only sound... More
