We stayed at Castiglionchio for 7 days and had a lovely time in one of the apartments from Rusticity down the road from the main building. Quite basic accommodation but in conformity with the price we paid which was on the low side. From here we used the place to discover Tuscany by hired car and returned only for the... More

Firstly just to clarify, there are 3 separate sites: Fattoria di Castiglionchio were we stayed, Castello di Ristonci and Villa Grassina. My review is for the Fattoria di Castigliochio site. The location is amazing with superb panoramic views of the surrounding hills, really beautiful and peaceful, there were times when the only sounds we could hear were natural sounds, nothing... More

I didn't know what to expect after quite a few negative reviews...however our experience was fab so I feel compelled to say as I don't feel that the current rating justifies how lovely this place is! We are a large family with lots of different needs and this place ticked all of the boxes . Our apartment 'Magnolia' was spacious... More

Castello di Ristonchi - Fattoria di Castiglionchio is placed between the mountains next to the vineyards of their own. A nice place to spend some time there on its own. A place to spend time peacefully. A typical Italian house/apartment available with huge beds and contemporary decoration. The heating in the apartment wasn't working as expected as it gets chilly... I am afraid this is one of the few places I have visited that I would not recommend anyone to go to. Fattoria di Castiglianchio is characterized by the beautiful scenery of Tuscany and has a wonderful view from most balconies. The pool area is nice with enough parasols and deck chairs. The baby pool is great for 1-3 year... More

Our family spent 3.5 weeks in the UK/France and Italy. We booked almost all of our accommodations through Airbnb and had excellent experiences. We booked a week at Castiglionchio as our one luxury accommodation. It is far from luxury. The most disappointing part is how much they nickel and dime you for everything. You have to rent towels, they provide... More

Our party of 7 stayed in 3 appartments in the beautiful estate of Castiglionchi. Accommodation basic but served our needs, rustic environment with so much to do. Our kids loved the choice of the two pools, one only shoulder deep and the other to your knees. If staying ask for the rooms over looking the pool. We had a fabulous... More

I booked at Fattoria di Castiglionchio with some trepidation after reading the variety of reviews. I decided we would chance it, as we were not looking for 5 star luxury, but a Tuscan experience and we were not disappointed. I mentioned to my family that the accommodations may not be 100%, so to keep their expectations down, and we felt... More

Stayed 2nd week May and the place was deserted only 20 people there when at capacity it can accomodate 300. Had the pool to ourselves most days with a stunning view of the Tuscan countryside. Would recommend car hire as located at the top of a very winding steep hill with no lights in the evening. We were a group of... More

When we arrived we were a little disappointed. The rooms were spacious, but clearly showing their age and a little neglect. So, initially, we thought we'd made a mistake. However, over the following days, it became clear that the value of Castiglionchio lay in the family orientation of the hotel. Evening dinners, horseback riding, and music nights convinced us that...
