We just loved this hotel. It wasn't perfect, but all its quirkiness and sense of fun made up for any flaws. We had the "Strangeness" room. It was decorated with such a sense of fun and love of life, with a "kiss" bed (with under-bed lighting), photos of Pride marches above the bed, bizarrely shaped lights, a phone in the... More

This hotel is certainly quirky, with each of the 7 rooms decorated in an original style. The location is great - once you find it (not quite sure how we would have located it without the friendly locals!). The views from the breakfast room are amazing. Rooms overlooking the Duomo also benefit from a great view - but this comes... More

If it's luxury you are after this is not the place for you but if you want something different with some great art and an unusual room - welcome. We stayed in the Lightness room facing the Duomo and the only criticism we would have is that it needs a shelf or two and not just a wire with hangers... More

This is a remarkable hotel with many art surprises in the bedrooms and reception areas. It may be described as quirky or eccentric but it is also very comfortable, well equipped and with great service. The location is superb at the top of the town with free parking beside the cathedral. Breakfast was lovely on the roof terrace with home-made... More

Piazza Armerina, in the middle of Sicily is home to the most remarkable collection of roman mosaics that I have seen. It also hosts an art hotel which is a delight. Our room had a painted ceiling of renaissance cherubs, a Dali sofa and squishy floor tiles that changed colour as you walked on them. There was all manner of... More

We spent two nights in this funky and arty place. We enjoyed it, but it did remind us of staying at a friend’s apartment when we were in graduate school. The owner wished to pay homage to the various periods of Italian design and invited design students to decorate each room in conformity with a specific epoch. The results are... More

Suite d'Autore is wonderfully located facing onto the main Piazza of Piazza Armerina although the entry is around the corner. We had the "traditional" room on the piano nobile (one floor above ground floor), nicely proportioned with high ceilings. The room isn't "grand", but is simply supplied with traditional furniture rather than the more eccentric furniture found in the other... More

I have just got back from Sicily and I have to say that Suite d' Autore simply made my holiday! The place itself is very elegant and cosy, and I truly enjoyed the stylish furniture of our room. The staff was very welcoming, sweet and helpful in anything we needed. This made our staying very relaxing. In a word: Fantastic!

This is a really neat place to stay, we had great views, the room was comfortable, clean, good sized bed, interesting art. Breakfast was good, staff friendly. We got there early, no staff, bar opposite Duomo OK. Very handy for Villa Romana del Casale, big thanks to other guests that gave us a lift! Internet computer in the breakfast area/bar.... More

Where do I start? After parking in the piazza, almost on the steps of the Duomo, we were offered a choice of room, as they are all individually themed, filled with individual designer furtniture and art (which is all for sale). We chose the room I had already picked from the photos - with a huge round bed, dali-red-lips sofa,... More
