The title says it all: the view of the old town of Piazza Armerina from the veranda, especially at sunset, is unforgettable. Even more unforgettable is the sumptuous and exquisite breakfast, with lively company of Luciano's friends and guests seated around the table, and, last but not least, the outgoing, friendly , helpful and knowledgeable host. (And if you (and... more

We loved La Casa Sulla Collina D'oro- an old restored home from the 19th century- Luciano our host, was passionate and proud of his home - with gracious hospitality! The home is clean- with a fantastic large table for breakfast. The breakfast spread is all local fresh food- sweet grapes, fresh local cheeses, freshly baked bread, olive oil, yogurts, juice,... more

We have read so many good things about this B&B that we were really excited to get there - and we were not disappointed. Luciano gave us a warm welcome (as well as good restaurant tips). The room was very comfortable and quiet. A really special event is the breakfast shared around a large table with all his guests in... more

The Casa sulla Collina d'Oro B & B in Piazza Armerina absolutely deserves the high praise it gets from Trip Advisor's travelers. It is a wonderful restored rustic house on a hill overlooking the extraordinary baroque cityscape of Piazza Armerina. We were given a choice of rooms, and all are simple, spacious, and beautiful with modern bathrooms. Most of all... more

We enjoyed our stay with Luciano. He was especially helpful finding us a restaurant the first day we arrived; he made the call for us to 'Amici miei' , highlighted our route on a map, told us where to park, etc. The next morning we had the pleasure to share Easter breakfast with a large family reunion group from Italy-... more

After reading all the great reviews we were really excited about staying here. When we arrived we were told that the room we had chosen was not available but they had other rooms we could choose. We picked one of the rooms not in the main house. I think this was our mistake because the room was not great. It... more

Lovely views of Piazza Armerina and very nice and social breakfasts in the morning. Very hospitable owners and staff. Coffee and tea also offered in the afternoon in a lovely setting. Central area tastefully decorated and welcoming. We found the guided tour of Villa Romana del Casale helpful and they will add the cost (about 20 euros a couple) to... more

This B&B is in a lovingly restored 19th-century house with a great view of Piazza Armerina. Our room and bath were beautifully designed in keeping with the character of the house, but modern and comfortable. In late November, the place had the feel of a mountain refuge. The owner, Luciano, is one of the reasons to visit Sicily. Warm and... more

My husband and I had the honor to spend one night at La Casa Sulla Collina D'oro in Piazza Armerina this September. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. The property is located on a hill that overlooks the town. The views from the back of the house are spectacular. Luciano, the owner and host, is such... more

It is definitelly the best B&B in Sicily. There are many things the others should learn from Luciano, the owner, including his slow food concept! more
