Date of Stay: May 8, 2014 Looks great from the driveway, but no maintenance, shoddy towels and bath mats in bathrooms. Room doors to terrace were broken in my room and neighboring room. Bird droppings on walkways from rooms to dining area. Worst food and dining room in all of Sicily, and there is no other nearby restaurant. Stayed here... More

Gigliotto – where one day can be too short, and too long: When we arrived at 3:00 pm, we were thrilled. Nestled picturesquely among beautiful farm hills planted with grape vines and cacti, Gigliotto’s first impressions prompted my usually-supportive wife to question “you only booked us here for one night?” Yes, husband had chosen Gigliotto as a lovely but short... Lovely setting and buildings. View of Mt. Etna possible from some areas. Room and bathroom and patio were delightful. BUT! Big but. All charm is negated by the quality of the service and of the food; and also at least one friend's room did not have hot water and water pressure was iffy. I found the dinner OK, but only... More

We stayed with some friens in this hotel for 5 nights. We enjoyed this very much! We had real good dinner with excellent wines! The staff was always very friendly. The rooms were clean and we had a wudnerful view from our terrace (Etna and vine yards). All over all I can only recommend this hotel for a stay in... More

Great location over looking fields of cactus, a local specialty crop. Beautiful room, but floors dirty. Our group of seasoned travelers touring Sicily were disappointed with a variety of short comings including no water pressure, no hot water. We were in a separate building which I recommend. You might ask about wi-fi as it was uneven....some rooms had better reception.... More

This was almost a joke. Great location in the countryside - buildings are attractive, views are nice, air is good BUT management must have been out of town, our group of twelve was in its own annex with large rooms and pretty views but the water pressure was a meagre trickle and the temperature would not rise above tepid. Don't... More

We were an extended family of 8 who traveled from NY looking for a comfortable place to stay after landing in Catania with plans to go to Piazza Armerina the next day. The drive from the airport was an easy hour and a half, and the drive to Villa Casale the next day was 30 minutes. The three rooms were... More

We stayed in this beautiful farm overlooking vineyards and cactus groves. The double room was spacious and the bed enormous! We were provided with clean towels each day and the view from our bedroom overlooking the farm was delightful with even a little terrace to sit in the shade in the afternoon. So why only 3 points? Well the food... More

I was so happy I decided to stay here. The grounds are just beautiful, with views, views, views. Wonderful stone paved central courtyard, rooms along one wing and the large restaurant wing opposite. Lots of locals came in to dinner. Pool location is great, gardens green and well tended. No wonder they do so many weddings! My room was very... More

We, an American couple, stayed one night in late April 2013. This is the second time I've been there in 5 years and they have greatly expanded their winery operations. The room, in a free-standing building alongside the main structure, was clean and adequate. Breakfast was adequate. Dinner went on and on, with copious amounts of food, but none of... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The HOTEL, a XIV former monastery, develops all around a Sicilian court-yard on which 26 comfortable rooms and a dining room appear, as a place of magic union between the typical fragrances and flavours of the perfumes of the Island cuisine made of biological products, served with Nero d' Avola wine. Our guests can enjoy a big swimming pool, a fixed riding place with expert guides, a small museum with peasant tradition, walks in the silence of the nature, in the green and in serenity. Placed in the heart of the Land of the Sun,on an idealposition for trips to Taormina , Agrigento, Syracuse, Noto and Ragusa Ibla, the farm-house boasts surroundings of largely famous tourist places such as Piazza Armerina with its Roman Villa, Caltagirone, beautiful for its historic town centre and known for the production of majolicas, Morgantina, an ancient Greek town with its agorà and its wonderful theatre. ... more   less
