This is a unique, off the beaten path hotel on an off the beaten path island. I must admit it is a schlep to and from the castle, especially during the day when you have to share the elevator with the long line of people wanting to get into the castle's museum. HOWEVER, IT IS WORTH IT. IT is truly... More

I hesitated to review this one because you hate to have a special place "discovered," but since I'm not Rick Steves, probably not that many people will see this review. This was a wonderful, restful, lovely, historic, interesting, beautiful place. The building and grounds are old (2500 years old), and there is lots of history to see and explore around... More

My wife and I recently stayed here for three nights. It was by far the most amazing stay of our lives! The dramatic setting of staying in a former monastery located in the ruins of a castle two hundred feet above the water is breathtaking! The view from our own balcony was astonishing. The hotel and rooms are decorated in... More

We were booked for 2 nights but had to change our plans and the manager was wonderful. The walk there was longer than expected but the welcome fantastic and a truly unique experience with breathtaking views. Get a water taxi to the ferry when you leave such fun at 20€. It was too quite for us and not enough beaches... More

I have waited a month or more to write this review because I want to be positive, there are so many good things about this hotel, but there are also some things that travellers need to be aware of. Everyone comments on the quality of the staff. I would want to underline that. The restaurant is very good - simple,... More

We stayed here for two nights with friends and went to Negombo spa. We loved it. It felt like staying with good friends as the service was so personal and excellent Amazing food and setting. They even lent us towels to take to the spa.

We were first time travelers to Italy and had a great stay on Ischia mostly due to the wonderful staff at this charming and historic monastery. They have done a marvelous job of keeping everything simple and elegant. We had no trouble getting around the island but chose to spend each evening on the terrace here watching the sunset.

As soon as we got off the taxi on the bridge that connects Ischia town to the islet where the 15th-century Aragonese castle and this hotel converted from an attached monastery, are located, we were immediately transported to another world and another time. Stunning as a description would do scant justice to this fabulous hotel! Cave-like passageways with in-built lifts,... More

Welcoming hotel on its own mini island off to the east of ischia ponte. Set in old monastery there is character in spades. The rock is actually a monument and tourist attraction in its own right but the hotel is above the public areas and you hardly know they are there. Rooms are fairly basic but personally we prefer that... More

We stayed here for two nights and would have loved to stay longer! It's an incredibly beautiful, historic and peaceful place to visit and stay. The rooms are lovely and simple and keep to the feeling of the castle. The staff is very helpful and always available to answer questions and offer recommendations. They're hospitality made our stay that much... More
