We had been expecting something less than perfect after reading one of the earlier reviews posted here, but were very pleasantly surprised by what we found so wanted to put the record straight. The hotel is wonderfully located, close to the main street but quiet, and is beautifully furnished. It is extremely comfortable and is packed with amenities (thermal spas and pool, lounge, rooftop pool, ground floor pool, evening dancing room). Grand Hotel Terme di Augusto is a very beautiful hotel, but with disappointing amenities and services. My husband and I were there the end of September to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and were looking forward to being pampered in their Spa. Do not be misled by 5 star rating. It is more of a "local Ischia rating system" as the island on the whole is a bit run down.
