We stayed here, travelling as a couple, for the first three nights of our holiday on the Amalfi Coast. Corpo di Cava is a magical spot, the Benedictine Abbey a true gem ( do go for the guided tour which is quite wonderful) and this hotel very good in many respects. Other reviewers have said that the rooms are dated,... More

A beautiful location, charming hotel staffed by friendly, helpful locals and breathtaking scenery. Getting there can be tricky (best to look out for the road signs instead of the GPS in certain places) but it is well worth the effort. The surrounding area is stunning: mountains, monasteries and beaches down below.

Up high in the mountains, this is a lovely hotel with everything you need at your fingertips. Local cuisine, bar, pool, shop next door, gelato stall- it's perfect! The hotel rooms are dated and a little dark (the one we stayed in was anyway) but as soon as you walk out onto the balcony you are struck by stunning views... More

The journey to the hotel from the autostrada through Cava de' Tirreni is quite tricky. My satnav took me to roads that ended in steps and one that was only inches wider than the car with both mirrors folded in. Once you find the Via San Benedetto things start to get a bit easier. The final road up to the... More

Agree with previous reviewers. Our GPS took us in a roundabout manner to a spot just down hill from the hotel. We enjoyed our stay here and found good value and excellent service. Very impressed by the size and variety of sitting rooms and decks available. Although we used our stay here to travel the Amalfi coast, Pompeii and Paestum;... More

Majestic in the past, a bit neglected now but still has an ambience and charm. Room was ordinary and a bit old, but it's not the main point. The restaurant, the garden with statues and the view on Amalfi coast - that is the main reason why people are still coming to this hotel. Definetely must visit

This hotel was pretty cheap and I saw it had good ratings so I decided to stay there. I guess most people are not using GPS these days. I punched it on the GPS and drove right to it. The parking can be very cramped. We arrived late in the night without a reservation and were able to get our... More

My wife and I stayed the first 2 nights of a 5-day whirlwind exploration of the Amalfi peninsula early June at Hotel Scapolatiello. To our great delight we found a place you only rarely come accross these days: a place located in beautiful as well as quiet surroundings off the beaten track in the middle of an authentic old Italian... Obviously, without a car (preferably a small one if you want to reach the hotel's car park through the very narrow roads) and GPS, it's rather difficult finding the place. However, once you are there, this nearly 200 years old hotel, surrounded with even older walls, is rather pleasant. The room was clean and spacious with a nice view to... More

Stayed here with my husband last week. Had a superior room with stunning views overlooking the opposite mountain range and a terrace where we sunbathed on our rest days. Tucked away in the hills near to a Benedictine monastery/catholic cathedral, via a pleasant walk through the hamlet. Fantastic food, attentive service and clean facilities throughout. Particular praise goes to Antonio... More
