Gorgeous, spacious grounds, with multiple settings for large events, which gives many places to wander alone. We had a lovely, fully equipped apartment for a very reasonable price. Hard to find with a car, but worth it. Convenient to visit Pompeii and Amalfi coast

The hotel is like 200 years old castle. Lobby, restaurant, bar, yard, room all decorated like old castle. Walking all around hotel and enjoy. I like yard and out side. Room beautiful and clean bath is clean. Don't forget to try honey on breakfast fantastic. Ask for room with good view I love to come back here in summer and... More

Charming old world rabbit warren of a hotel, with good rooms and excellent staff. We were underwhelmed by the food which seemed rather unimaginative and more reminiscent of school dinners than fine dining. The gardens are lovely, as are the views, but the pool is too often inaccessible due to weddings. The little hilltop town is well worth wandering round,... More

The Hotel is in a beautiful location with plenty of romantic charm and fabulous views from the terrace, cannot fault the room, even the aged shower didn't reduce our admiration. The big disappointment for us was our much anticipated last night dinner in the restaurant was moved downstairs away from the beautiful view, there had been a wedding earlier in... More

Goodness knows how individual travellers ever find this charming hotel. We were with Andante Travel on their Classical Pompeii, Herculaneum tour and were based at this hotel. The hotel is charming and full of character, the bedrooms are spotless and have everything you could want including a bidet with towels ! The lounge areas are numberous and splendid in there... More

My wife and I stayed in the Hotel Scapolatiello for two nights at the start of our walking holiday in the Amalfi coast. Neither of us had been to Italy before and were unsure what to expect. From the start we were bowled over by the friendly staff, the beautiful grounds and our room with a terrace. The food was... More

An old hotel, yes, but why does a hotel need to be "modern"? Scapolatiello is charming, with an abundant of gorgeous views from the (very) numerous places you can sit, have a drink, and relax. Kitchen for the most part excellent. Staff very helpful. Pool is nice. Nature walks nearby, not too far from Cava and Vietri. Very restful and... More

Pleasant rooms, clean, although a little old fashioned, and with a very good buffet breakfast with fresh fruit, bread and cakes. Dinner was very traditional in the usual style of an Italian hotel dining room, and very well executed. My grilled fish was perfectly cooked, served with grilled vegetables. Starter of smoked salmon with cream cheese was also excellent and... More

After several days of touring the archeological sites around the Bay of Naples, I decided to spend a few extra days in Italy before I returned to the US. I am certainly glad that I chose this hotel. My room with a small balcony was clean & well-kept & had a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. The staff was... More

While here in march we had snow and quite a bit of rain so walking up from the car park meant an influx of 25 wet persons. This did not worry the staff who were most welcoming and friendly. The rooms were large and some have baths but we only had a shower which was perfectly adequate. We note that... More
