We had pretty big expectations for our time on the Amalfi coast and our stay at Palazzo Verone...and we were blown away! Our goal was to spend the whole time hiking the trails in the area and we were perfectly situated in Pontone to reach a multitude of hikes, including Valle dei Mulini, Valle delle Ferriere and Toro dello Ziro.... Palazzo Verone is a wonderful B & B. The view down on Amalfi is breathtaking. Michele is an incredible host who goes out of his way to be sure you are well served and comfortable. He has great tips for local restaurants and attractions that are not in guidebooks and overrun by large tour groups. One day he took us... More

This is a great place to stay it is a little out of the main town so not practical for the hard of walking. However for the fit the location offers an escape from the commercial and busy nature of the city. It also has a couple of restaurants nearby which were very good value for money with great views... We loved loved and loved every minute of our stay at Palazzo Verone! Michele (owner) is just a super unique person. The place itself is a very old house but inside is so beautiful. We stayed at Palazzo Verone for 3 days on our Italian journey. Michele's hospitality set the bar high for other places we stayed in Italy. There... More

During our 8 days stay at the Palazzo Verone, our minds and bodies managed to fully rest. The place is breathtaking and can engulf you for decades. Waking up is a really pleasure at the Palazzo Verone, thanks to the amazing view, which is presented out of the window. So, there is no doubt that the location is the best... More

We LOVED our stay! Pontone is the smallest, sweetest little Italian town you can possibly imagine. If you want an authentic experience away from the tourism of Amalfi but still close to it then this is your place. We spent many afternoons sitting in the tiny piazza drinking beer or espresso, then walking around the corner to the best little... More

Arriving at Palazzo Verone was like arriving at a long-lost relative's home. Michele is a warm, inviting and personable man who treats his guests like family. The view from the home is inspirational, to say the least: Amalfi 1000 steps below, Ravello off to the east and the Amalfi coast and the stunning, glistening sea as far as the eye... More

I visited the Palazzo twice this year and this time in November. The weather was great, still 20-25 degrees. When taking the coastal road from Vietri sul Mare direction Amalfi, you will have magnificent views with constant changing colours of the sea and the sky. I even saw a spectacular sunset from there. Before coming to Amalfi you turn right... More

My wife and I spent 5 lovely nights at Palazzo Verone to celebrate our 25th anniversary and we had a great time! The accommodations were as special as pictured on the site. We had the larger room which was very spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view of the valley down to Amalfi and the sea beyond. Quite a spectacular... More

My husband, 2 daughters, friend, and family dog were warmly welcomed into Michele's beautiful B&B. I wouldn't change a thing about our weekend get away. Waking up to the beautiful views out our bedroom window looking down to the town of Amalfi and over to the beautiful town of Ravello made it hard to leave this perfect place. Michele warmly... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Palazzo Verone is a friendly and affordable B&B, suitable for families on their vacation, for a couple or more days in a trekking stay, for a romantic gateway or for your unforgettable honeymoon. As you will notice in our guests'pics, our aim is to let you feel at home, welcomed and treated with kindness and professionality. If you want to travel and love the Amalfi Coast, deeply feeling the atmosphere rich in nature and history, check for our rates or special offers, that is all you need. History The fame of Verone and the miraculous story "Palazzo Verone" is an historical mansion of medieval origin and still preserve evidence of its glorious past, several paintings of the eighteenth century (mentioned in TCI) can be seen on walls and celings. The building in ancient times was owned by Mr. Verone, influential and well known family of Pontone's village. The Verones were in struggling however with another noble family of the place, the D'Afflittos, owners of the ancient basilica of S.Eustace Petite that still can be seen nowadays. An old legend came up to us telling that in1618, Mr.Giovanni Domenico Verone and his wife were rescue somehow from death. This miracle is depicted in the frescoes ovals that still are preserved (they show some thiefs chained up and others souls in Purgatory holding bones in their hands) and it seems that the history is that the family have been saved from the assault of some thiefs thanks to the intercession, prayer request, of the souls in Purgatory. ... more   less
