Nice, clean, good quality hotel, nice breakfast by the pool (we read it's served in a basemenet room but for us it wasn't), a nice 10 minute-walk from the center but has no beach. After Santorini, we were very pleased with the spacious, clean room we got along with the large terrace overlooking the pool and tennis court. My husband and I were not pleased at all with this hotel. The service was horrible when we needed more towels the staff would not provide us with them there reason was they only send towels when they clean there answer was simple NO. The Hotel Porto Naxos is big and new, the rooms and bathrooms are modern, and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. (The food is mediocre and a bit expensive.) The staff was extremely kind and helpful, every morning we were greeted with a smile. Margerita at the front desk was very sweet helping the 2 helpless girls we were find our way around town and then renting a car to tour the beaches! The rooms are beautiful. If you want a luxury break on you're way round the Cyclades, treat yourself to this place. We stayed for 3 nights in June 2004 and couldn't find a thing wrong. A bit far from the beach, but who needs it with this pool and the wonderful service. more
