My friend and I were meeting for lunch and this was a place that had been recommended by Amy & Paul Demetry. They are the new owners of the Marl Inn Bed & Breakfast in Yorktown. What a wonderful surprise it was to run in to them. What a charming place, delicious food, and reasonable prices. I will definitely be... More

Susie and George are great. This is a historic inn from long ago next to the train depot. Along with this being a B&B it is also a tea house, reception/event venue, country store/antique shop, etc. The breakfasts were wonderful, and plentiful! We are visiting my son in the Navy and there's lots to do. Close to Williamsburg, Virginia Beach... More

Went for an evening meal with a bus group. The place was brimming with atmosphere and the staff was so accommodating. We were entertained during our meal by a trio dressed in period clothing. The food was prepared and served hot and in a timely manner. The only draw back was we didn't have a lot of room as there... More

The staff at the Boxwood Inn was so kind and very efficient. Enjoyed being there! The Shepard's Pie wasn't the best we've had, but everyone had a very nice time. Loved the hand-made Santa Claus and decor!

I stayed at the Boxwood Inn when my son was interviewing at CNU. My schedule was crazy that weekend and Kathy and Derek took great care of me and my crazy schedule. The room was GREAT, clean and I slept very well. I will be back more often as my son will be attending CNU in the fall.

My family spend five nights at The Boxwood Inn for my son's Make A Wish trip. He wanted to stay in a historic inn. The Boxwood Inn was lovely and perfect. Kathy and Derek, the innkeepers, were awesome. They made us delicious breakfasts every morning that perfectly suited both my dietary restrictions (Celiac Disease) and my son's ketogenic diet for... We used this spot for a wedding in September 2013 and it rocked. The place lights up at night and it's very spacious inside. They only let you use their catering but the food is awesome. The Boxwood Inn has been around for a long time. That's it, across the railroad tracks from the very first steam engine to rumble into Newport News in 1896 (a 117 years ago) The Boxwood Inn was once the center of civic and commercial activity in Newport News. Businessman Simon Curtis built the twenty-one-room house in 1896 and lived here... More
