We were lucky enough to begin a Provencal vacation at the Domaine de Capelongue this September. The property is stunning - pictures do not begin to do it justice. In addition to the rolling hills, spectacular views, and beautiful landscaping, there are modern sculptures and pieces of art scattered throughout the property, giving it character as opposed to looking like... Our stay here was lovely. The accommodations are incredible. The views are spectacular. Very serene area in Provence. Great for relaxation. The dining experience is wonderful. Beautiful sunsets to enjoy.

This review is for the restaurant. After a great start, it has to be said that it soon became clear thst this restaurant is now a money machine catering to foreigners who are unlikely to return. On the night we dined, there was not a single French customer to be heard and this is not surprising given the pretty awful... More

Reading reviews on tripadvisor before i came to the bastide de capelongue kind of scared me but i insisted on coming to form my own opinion because after all michelin ratings and relais chateaux have rarely failed me, and they are much more quality-accurate ratings for me than individual travelers with different perceptions of culture (eg perception of ones friendliness... We have dined at many Michelin starred restaurants in the UK, France and Italy and we’ve never experienced meals as astonishingly poor as we had here. While I could write at great length about our experience, it was epitomised by my wife’s a la carte starter. This was one small langoustine about 6 cm long by 2.5 cm wide, accompanied... More

Domaine de Capelongue, located in beautiful and historic Bonnieux (Provance) could not have a nicer setting, could not have nicer grounds but it could have better food and service. The internet was almost non-existent (although on vacation why am I worried about the internet??). By the way the hotel looks on the outside and the inside I was really expecting... More

We have been here before, and the place has improved tremendously. The property is and was spectacular, with sublime views of the valleys near Bonnieux. Lots of lavender, linen and a two-star Michelin rating that they have managed to keep for several years. The food is lighter than I remember it (that is a good thing) and the classics (a truffle... If only we could stay for 2 more days…. The whole place was just enchanting. Early morning walks in the lavender fields and gardens, hearing the bees buzzing, gazing out into the whole estate was just totally relaxing… matched with the unobtrusive yet very charming and efficient staff, the attention to detail in their rooms, even the location of their... It is definitely worth making the time to arrange a visit to this magnificent venue and to experience an afternoon with Edouard Loubert's mastery of food and wine as you will not be disappointed stay in the village of Lourmarin overnight at least, to take in some of Frances best rural experiences.

After a hectic year we decided we needed a break and what better place to go then relatively nearby South of France. Usually we tent out with the bikes or the 2cv and the dog at the lovely campsite Le Vallon but with the winter cold we decided that we needed to book something solid with walls. La Capelongue was...
