We had saved the Luberon for a special indulgence. Sometimes driving 200 km, is worth the wait. A sign along the road selling truffles awakens an excitement. The eatery has a small dining room with lovely views and very casually dressed but sophisticated crowd. You know the style dressing, without showing off. We were served a plate of veggies out of... Yes, excellent staff and service but the room was so small and basic - and the food! Endless (7) amuse bouche before the first course arrived and what disappointment! a smear of carrot puree and two frazzled carrots hardly warranted a four line description on the menu. The rest of the meal was much the same, ending with a "pre-dessert"... More

Some points below why, despite the excellent service of the staff, it's just a 3 star rating. 1. We were accommodated in the apartment area at the other side of the road. Nice room in a "country, farmhouse" style, comfortable bed, etc. 2. BUT. The bathroom. Why do people have the urge to waaaaay overplay a style just to become... More

I had stayed here about 10 years ago with the Wayfarers walking tours group and decided to try it again this past May 2014. What a disapointment .....the hotel rooms are tired and smaller than I remembered. Flooring in the rooms needs to be redone. Staff were very accommodated but I would never eat in their Edouart Loubet restaurant. A... More

Arrived for dinner reservation at 8.30 in the nice informal restaurant overlooking the pool. Sat on terrace trying to catch someone's eye to get a drink - there were 4 other tables of guests on the table. After 40 mins, went in to take the table and get a drink there. Took another 70mins to order and for the starter... More

We stayed here for a week in June in order to catch the lavender season -- we were lucky that the lavender was blooming early this year. The property itself is spectacular with views over the country side as it is on the top of a hill. The management leaves a selection of bread and croissants outside the door every... More

My wife and I spent three nights at Domaine de Capelongue a few weeks ago. It was refreshing to read the other reviews where guests felt uncomfortable and unwelcome, because that is exactly how we felt. I would go so far to say we felt afraid, which just isn't how you should feel when you stay at a high-end luxury... More

My partner and I stayed within the main hotel in the suite Garrigou. The air conditioning was useless and ineffective. There was no overhead shower, only a bath which took forever to fill. The minibar was not refilled so woke up in the night to no water! The room was not cleaned until after 2pm following our first night. The... More

This domaine (resort) is located near the Luberon mountain in Provence and enjoys beautiful nature, nice views and cool climate. In fact during our stay we switched off air conditioning in the room, even if it was mostly sunny. Note that we were staying in the hotel-like Bastide, but there are also flats for rental in the Ferme. Our two... More

This is a great place for a high end off the beaten path vacation. The view down to the town is spectacular particularly at sunset. We stayed in a lovely room with a loft and kitchenette and private terrace. Breakfast pastries were brought to our room every morning and we could eat inside or out. There is an option for... More
