On paper HLS is perfect; it has beautiful chic interiors and is a very short distance from anything you'd want to visit in Ars en Re. Walkable distance to Church*, delis, restaurants, bike rental and a short bike ride to beach, port, a mini golf course and markets.) It truly is a beautiful holiday hideaway for anyone who needs peace... More

Hello, you spend one week at the hotel Le Sénéchal we thank you for having chosen our hotel. And thank you for giving your advice about your stay, but we are very surprised with what you wrote, because during your stay you seem to be so kind and so glad to be at the Sénéchal ! It is a pity... More

We arrived to the hotel late and they had left our key out for us. The lobby is nicely designed and a great communal space. We were staying for two nights. We didn't get much sleep for the duration of the stay. The rooms are minimalist with wooden floors, although it looks great you can hear everything from the other... More

Lovely shabby chic hotel, original features blended with a cool contemporary look. Beautifully designed by Christophe Ducharme... Appropriately named given his style. Conveniently positioned in the charming village of Ars en Ré with lovely shops, restaurants and bike hire within a stones throw. Lovely breakfast at 13€pp but I did find our bed very uncomfortable, to the point I hardly... More

The hotel were friendly and very helpful from the first contact. We were happy with the room recommended to us and despite arriving at 8 p.m. were warmly welcomed and given a tour of the hotel by the owner. The room had a lovely bathroom and separate loo, a sitting area and spacious terrace. Breakfast was served beautifully and local... More

We stayed with our children and their grandparents for two nights. We had two rooms in the main hotel, which were charming & boutique-style. We also had an apartment which was about 50m from the main hotel. More functional than the hotel rooms - less snazzy decor, but the apartment had a small kitchen so we could cook dinner for... More

We have stayed on Il de re four times previously and this is the best hotel we have found. The staff were welcoming and helpful. They booked restaurants for us when required and answered our questions. The building was an old granary and has been converted by an Architect with great flair.Lots of interesting touches. All the rooms are different... More

Several old buildings knocked into one, numerous staircases. with inbuilt style in every corner. Our room was over the main entrance, not big but very comfortable. The bathroom was fine but the bath was narrow, making access awkward. And no shower curtain/screen. Hmmm. The courtyards were gorgeous with masses of plants and old reclaimed furniture. A lovely place to have... More

I visited Hotel Le Senechal with my brother and two sisters about a week ago, and we all were bowled over by this fantastic hotel and by the absolutely outstanding service we received. The hotel is charming and wonderfully designed with many, many cool details. It is worth taking some time to look around. It is located right in the... More

A great renovation to an old building, our room was large, comfortable and cleverly decorated. Lovely flowers in the multiple courtyards where breakfast is served. Right in the centre of a beautiful village with a choice of good eating places close by. The view on to the square is great but if noise worries you choose a back room. Excellent... More

This is my second trip to the beautiful island of Ile-de-Re and we decided to stay somewhere different from Saint Martin where we were last time. Ars is much smaller and very cute and the Hotel has been an absolute pleasure! Its shabby chic style is charming and the little decor details make it warm and homely. We love the... More
