3-star hotel with pleasant maritime decor next to a port. Staff are helpful. The small 1st-floor room was disappointing as fixtures were poorly designed. No net curtains so you can't enjoy the view when you're changing unless you're an exhbitionist. The bedside lights are two glaring, cheap spotlights that make reading uncomfortable. Upgrading details like these would make La Marée... More

We chose this hotel via tripadvisor as it is only 20 minutes from La Rochelle Airport and we were flying from London just for the weekend to attend our friends' wedding. Although the rooms (maybe the standard ones only?) are fairly small and pricey, they are tastefully decorated as is the entire hotel. There is a pool as well as... More

We stayed one night at La Maree in September 2014. Quite frankly it was much better than we expected! The room was small, but had a good king bed and ocean view; it's perhaps 20 meters to the ocean. They have a decent restaurant with seating right on the shoreline, plus a very nice pool, sauna, and hot tub oasis... More

The hotel is a perfect place to stay in the island, especially if your windows face Atlantic. Ours were not, but we did not bother. They have just everything you need for calm and easy vacations on the sea: location, friendly staff, swimming pool, spa, beach terrace for dining, free Evian every morning, rooms are just of right size and... Wonderful small hotel, the staff are so friendly & helpful. We loved the swimming pool & the lounge for relaxing after dinner. Our room was small but comfortable with a great view & very quiet. There is private parking & a bike shed if you hire bikes like we did to explore the island. Thanks Hotel la Maree!

The room although very clean and modern was a bit small. It did overlook (with a balcony) the bay looking towards the bridge so had good views of the water - and the evening sun too. There are two main roads into/out of Il de Re and this hotel is on one of them - so the view of the... More

I stayed at this hotel for a week at the end of August/beginning of September. I found it difficult to believe it was only 3 stars as it could easily have been 5 stars. I had a pleasant room with subtle decoration and half a sea view and a king size bed (I ordered a sea view and king size... More

Stayed for 3 nights during summer 2012. Opted for a room overlooking the sea/harbour with a balcony on the basis that other reviews had suggested these were the best overall package. Yes, the room was small and the balcony tiny but the decor was fine and the bathroom perfectly adequate. The main potential problem is the hotel's location on the... More

This was our first trip over the bridge to the Ile de Re and Rivedoux is the first place you get to once you have negotiated this great bit of engineering. The hotel is on a busy road but has available parking a short distance away. Reception was helpful (we had experienced an IT failure during our attempts to book... More

Stayed here recently following a trip further south to the Dordogne region and was not as impressed as some of the other reviews here on trip advisor. Found Il de Re to be overpriced generally and this hotel was no different. Reasons we didn't love this hotel were as follows: Rooms are small. The 'superior' sea view rooms were extremely... More
