We had a wonderful stay at the Castell Rose for 5 days. Evelyne and Alex were great hosts. We stayed in their Picasso studio and our expectations were fulfilled from their description. The studio had everything you could need, even a garlic crusher. We were given a beautiful basket of all the local buiscuits and nougat, which we felt was... more

I couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay. Everything about Castell Rose was fabulous. The owners, Evelyne and Alex, are two of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. They speak English which is extremely beneficial since I don't speak French, yet. They went above and beyond to assist us and other guests ...... more

The apartment had everything you could need for a self catering break. The town centre was within an easy ten minute walk. Prades itself was a much lived in French town with a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. The food market was excellent. We explored the local area by public transport. It's worth visiting during the Casals music... more

Beauty, warmth, spaciousness, comfort, the constantly changing view of Canigou right out your window—these are the accumulated impressions of our stays at Castell Rose two years in a row, 10-11 days each time. After our first visit last year we wanted immediately to return: the Waldvogels are wonderfully welcoming hosts, always ready to offer well-informed advice on what to do... more

Redolent of a Spanish Parador this little B&B is like a mini baronial hall. Its room prices are above average but include breakfast, so off-season is still reasonable. Very friendly welcome and service. We visited in winter so the gardens were a bit drab, but the setting is quiet and with good views of Pic Canigou (and parking is no... more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in September. This B&B is a lovely chateau on the outskirts of Prades and the rooms are just beautiful overlooking a delightful garden with hugh mountains as a backdrop. Breakfast was served in the main dining area and was very nice indeed. Other facilities include a swimming pool and tennis courts.... more

We had a lovely large room looking out over the garden, with a beautiful back-drop of a snow capped Mt Canigou. Our hosts were very charming, their hospitality generous and nothing was too much trouble. Castel Rose was everything one hopes for in a chambres-dhotes and more. We hope to return soon. more

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Castell Rose immediately after a stay in the "gold standard" of B&Bs further north, the Clos d'Epicure near Albi. So we arrived somewhat spoiled, expecting a very similar experience. We found Castell Rose to be nice, clean, and quiet, with a delightful host and a great buffet breakfast (rare in France!).... more

We stayed two nights here 18/19 October and made a mini-tour of the area - St Michel, St Martin, Eus, Serrabone etc. Our accommodation was excellent - spotless double room with a lovely bathroom (no bath but the shower is a good one) on the top floor. The small window looks out to the snow-capped Canigou (an even better view... more

Everything was great. Excellent hosts, great food the night that we did a Table d'Hote, fabulous views of the Canigou mountain from our room, very comfortable bed and spacious room. The B&B owners clearly work very hard on the house to keep it completely ship-shape. more
