We agree with the majority of reviews of this hotel, although to expect fluent English to be spoken whilst in the heart of France is ignorant and i don't think can be held against the hotel! All the staff we met were able to communicate with us enough and on the most part their English was very good and certainly... More

I agree with the other reviews that this B&B is clean, etc., even has an elevator and A/C, but the young woman who checked us in spoke almost no English, and when told that we couldn't stay the two nights booked via Booking.com due to a medical reason, she said in broken English that that was okay. Once in the... More

Great place to stay, awesome bed, and great breakfast in the morning! I'd skip the fancy restaurant though. My room had a nice bathtub and a view of the hills. Service was friendly and their English was good in most cases.

My wife and I stayed 1 night, following a long-planned visit to Sancerre. Set in Chavignol, a quiet village a couple of miles outside Sancerre, the hotel is tastefully modern, and our room was first class in every respect. The staff were at all times very friendly and helpful. Although there is no attached car park, parking in the little... More

We travelled down through Northern France from the Channel tunnel on the fourth day of our ‘French road trip’ from Northumberland last November. Bypassing Paris we set the ‘sat-nav’ for Chavignol in the middle of the Sancerre wine region in France. I am a bit of a wine fan and although I would not call myself a connoisseur I do... More

This hotel is situated in the middle of Chavignol which is ideal if you want to buy wine or goat cheese as those appear to be the only types of retail outlet in the village. Our room was large, very comfortable and very quiet. Our room had a wet-room which is more modern than many of the other hotels we... More

We booked this hotel as we wanted to eat in the restaurant. After booking we found out that it was shut on Wednesday night. So we booked for the bistro. On being handed the menu all of the a la carte starters and main courses were crossed through. We enquired and sure enough the choice was a hand full of... More

The biggest downside here is that there is no car park - parking is around the very small 'place' opposite or in the public car park a fair walk away up the hill. Not ideal. The hotel is on the main road through the village, which is incredibly noisy from the early hours - think tractors, lorries and rattling trailers.... More

Here in the tiny wine hamet of Chavingnol, just below the famous wine village of Sancerre, you will find this amazing restaurant in the hotel. A difinite must, you can choose between a 3 course meal or a 5, all including the "amuse bouche" and paired with your favorite local Sancerre wines. Book ahead and don't be disappointed. The restaurant... More

You would never imagine that such a quaint village could have such a sophisticated hotel. Our room was very clean and quite large. This hotel is very new and has modern accommodations. There is a fabulous fine dining restaurant downstairs, also modern and exceeds expectations. I felt like I was in a big city. The staff was attentive and charming.
