We stayed here for two nights. It was just perfect. Jacques and Nicole Audibert are wonderful hosts. We were given a very warm welcome and given the opportunity to choose one of two rooms, both lovely. We were then treated to Sancerre and nibbles on the terrace before dinner on a local restaurant. Breakfast on each day was excellent and... More

My wife and I along with two of our children (aged 4 and 6) stayed at La Chanceliere for 3 days. Thou you cant expect it, our stay was what we hoped for and dreamed of. We were grateful to have two separate bedrooms with a bathroom between. Just perfect for families with small children. So is the big lawn.... More

I have nothing new to add but wanted to confirm the continued excellence of this small hotel. Excellent breakfast on the terrace. Friendly proprietors with high standards. Nice rooms. Great building and grounds. Wonderful experience.

We stayed three nights with Jacques and Nicole in their lovely, old, characterful house in a small village down the hill from Sancerre itself. Breakfast, in particular - taken on the terrace each morning - was perfect - fresh croissants and viennoiserie, coffee, yoghurt and everything else you could wish for; but the main thing to say is how indescribably... We had a truly wonderful time at this place with the nicest hosts Nicole and Jacques. Stayed only 1 night on our way back to london, could have stayed more! After a 3 week trip around South of France, this was surprisingly one of the most memorable! The house itself is stunning and the gardens are beautiful. Our room was... More

This is a beautiful property with great hosts. Our room was spacious and lovely and the bathroom had all the amenities of an upscale hotel. There was even a small refrigerator stocked with soft drinks and water and a coffee machine in the massive hallway outside the rooms for the guests use. Our room overlooked the patio and garden, so... More

My sister and I stayed for 3 nights recently, on the recommendation of a friend. We were not disappointed. The hosts Nicole and Jacques are charming and always ready to help if asked. The breakfast every morning on the terrace was perfect with fresh juice, soft fruits, pastries and bread, yoghurt, home made jams, cheese and ham, tea and coffee... More

This large old property has been sympathetically and beautifully renovated (even a lift!) Our bedroom was beautifully decorated and overlooked the garden. The large bed had pure linen bedding and was very comfortable. The en-suite facilities were fine. Utterly charming hosts – always on hand but never obtrusive. Breakfast was amazing - individual tables laid with beautiful linen table-cloths and... More

Just returned from one night with friends at this hidden gem. So sorry we could not stay longer. We will be going back that's for sure. Beyond the anonymous doors is a piece of French history and splendour. The terrace overlooks Sancerre itself and the vineyards; it's quite unlike anything I have ever visited before. The owners make your feel... More
