Comfortable, large room with big ensuite. Wonderful breakfasts on the terrace the lovely with a view of the Chateau of Sancerre (or inside if the weather isn't cooperative). Or wine and nibbles before going out in the evening.Nicole and Jacques are welcoming and helpful. The building is a delight, though first entry from the street would lead you to think... More

Just returned from spending 3 nights at La Chanceliere with friends. So very relaxing; from drinking wine on the terrace to very dark and quiet bedrooms - perfect for a good nights sleep! Madame Nicole and Monsieur Jacques were most helpful and obliging recommending places to go and places to eat and as the other reviews state breakfast on the... More

Do not judge by the outside wall. We had trouble finding it. But, once inside a lovely view of the grounds and countryside from the terrace. With help from Nicole and Jacques, we had a glass of Sancerre and a cookie and total relaxation ensued. A big room; a very low but comfortable bed and no noise allowed easy sleeping.... More

We stopped for one night during our recent drive from the South of France. Obviously being close to Sancerre was attractive, but the house, garden and terrase were even more of a special oasis in Saint Satur than anticipated from the prior reviews and publicte. Of the 3 B&B's we chose on this trip - this one wins out as... More

This was our first stop on a three week holiday. The facility is charming although limited closet space. The owners were so hospitable and kind and we were treated like welcome family. Breakfast was a little chilly and we were provided with warm shawls. he next day we were brought into the living room to eat. One night we came... More

I spent five nights at La Chanciliere during October. Not much I can add to the other reviews, but here’s a few things I really liked: -I enjoyed the little town of Saint-Satur. There were a couple of great restaurants that I could easily walk to from La Chanciliere. It was also a good base to explore the Sancerre region.... More

My wife and I recently stayed several days and loved staying at this lovely place house (both interior and exterior). There is a very nice deck and yard with a view towards vineyards and of Sancerre. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The hosts Nicole and Jacques were very nice and spent time talking with us and providing recommendations.... More

The internet was not working. They said I could use a credit card but asked for cash. The parking is really on street parking. The breakfast was great. It was off season and cold. Dogs are nice but 3 or 4 in the dining room may be a bit much. Not my thing

I booked La Chanceliere on the strength of the TripAdvisor reviews. I agree with all the comments, the warmth of the hosts, breakfast, wine on the terrace, but there are one or two downsides: the room was nice but not wonderful with nowhere to hang clothes, parking is difficult with even a moderately sized car and wifi is poor. Saint... More

Nicole and Jacques, the owners of La Chancelier, have done an amazing job creating a wonderful experience at their Bed & Breakfast. I have nothing but great things to say about this place and still dream about going back to this oasis. My husband and i were constantly surprised and delighted at this place. We came via train from Paris... More
