We stayed with friends at the Hotel Saluces during a short trip to the Auvergne in September . We chose the hotel because of the Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. The hotel is located in one of the ‘Beautiful Villages of France’ and both the village and the hotel were perfect as a base for exploring the area.... More

Hotel Saluces is a lovely, quaint hotel and a perfect place to stay while visiting this stunning French village. The owner, Daniel, is very sweet, friendly and helpful but doesn't speak English, so knowing a little French is helpful, but not imperative. We had breakfast our first morning at the hotel and felt that while very tasty - it was... More

Comfortable rooms right inside this beautiful village. Mouthwatering hearty breakfast. All topped by an excellent service from the caring owner. An example: arriving on bicycles with a damaged tire, he proposed immediately to drive us to the nearest town to get a new tire 20 miles away and save our vacation time.

I felt like we were staying in a Castle. Beautiful comfortable, modern rooms and lovely helpful staff. We also had the breakfast which was a little light on but just what you needed. Overall a lovely hotel. I wish we could have stayed longer.

In short: Old-style European building with thick stone walls, very modern rooms, comfortable, nice host and excellent breakfast. Town and nice restaurants and bistros all within a very short walking distance. Parking a bit tricky - but the hotel gave us a free parking pass for a spot only 1 minute away from the hotel. Will go back again. Wi-Fi:... More

The hotel is beautifully appointed and the staff are very friendly. We enjoyed our breakfasts which were fresh and delicious. Yoghurt, fruit juice, coffee bread, croissants and pastries. We would recommend the hotel as its position is ideal to take in the volcanic peaks in the Auvergne....Puy Mary etc. We stayed a week and were treated like family by the... More

We recently spent three days in the Cantal region of France (Auvergne), staying three nights at the wonderful little Hotel Saluces in Salers. We had a big, nicely decorated room in the 16th Century building at about $75.00 a night for a double room with up-to-date bathroom/American style shower and very comfortable bed. A great continental breakfast was included--some of... More

We stayed in the 2 extremely well-decorated chambres d'hôtes (Asphodèle) that are also managed by the same couple, but had breakfast at the hotel. The hotel has a lovely courtyard full of flowers where you can have tea and pastries, or just relax in the sun. The staff is friendly and gives excellent advice on what to see. There is... More

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Saluces, it's very charming and neat with reasonable prices. The landlord can appear a bit cold but he's very friendly when you get to know him (you can mention photography to break the ice...) and he'll be happy to provide you with useful information such as local walks matching your skills. We stayed in... More
