Only stayed one night in downstairs adjoining rooms suite with wife and 2 teenagers. Clean, comfortable and convenient for bruges and ghent. Opted for dinner and the food was excellent. Pumpkin soup was a revelation. Very well stocked honesty fridge had some great beers. Would definitely go again if travelling through. Couple of k's out of village in quiet countryside.... More

My family and I stayed at Wilgenhof for a few days while in Belgium. We loved the area; nice an quite, surrounded by farms. I definitely recommend it for a short term stay. I talk about it a bit more on my blog -https://bottytrekks.wordpress.com/2015/08/17/bb-gasthof-wilgenhof-maldegem-belgium/

This couple is generous at heart, pandering to your needs. Food is all grown on the farm by themselves and with the help of seasonal wwoofers. They're fully responsive to your meals and comfort. Sheets are clean and 'sun-dried'. Real fresh air awaits you throughout the day. Check it out

Lovely setting and room and facilities first class. Hosts were very obliging. Off street parking ideal for motorcyclists. Location ideal for a short run to Holland or further north if you so wish. Location selected due to only 40km from Zeebrugge P&O ferries. Would book again

Stayed summer 2011. Really excellent and relaxing, and Rita's lovely food! and home made jams, and excellent selection of local beers, and the garden....Great location for the Belgian or Dutch coast and Antwerp as well as Bruges.

I had the pleasure of staying at Wilgenhof during the summer and I can't rate it highly enough. Hugo and Rita are without a doubt the most lovely hosts that I have ever encountered. The location is perfect for a quiet, relaxing time where I would reccommend having a beer in the garden and just listen to the variety of... More

My Partner and I stayed in Wilgenhof and had a lovely time with many, many fond memories of Hugo and Rita's slice of the organic good life. Rustic, charming and perfectly situated between Brugge and Ghent, just outside the small town of Maldegem (Go find the bakery 'Chris' amazing sweets!) and the even smaller hamlet of Kleit (great butcher shop!).... I stayed at Wilgenhof with my girlfriend for a 3-day weekend last summer and I must say it was one of the best rural accomodations I've ever encountered. Everything was very clean, tidy, silent, peaceful and welcoming, BUT the food...well, the food was out of this world! When we learned that Hugo and Rita grow their own vegetables and have... More
