In March 2013 I stayed the second time with my boyfriend in the Regina Hotel for a short skiing trip. As the first time in 2011, we liked it a lot. The interior of the hotel (rooms) is a combination of modernity and tradition. We find it very tasteful and stylish furnished. The rooms are of decent size with renovated... More

More

I stayed with my wife at The Regina for a couple of days in march 2013. The hotel is situated in Bad Gasteins lower area, with a great view of the Graukogel side of the Gastein valley, and the ski area is easily accessible by a bus that stops fairly close to the hotel. If you want you can deposit... More

Ok hotel, rooms are standard size for the alps, that is small. Beds are way too soft to sleep on after a long day on the slopes. Breakfast starts strict at 8am which is too late if you want to catch the best morning runs, the lifts starts running at 8.30am. The hotel restaurant is also at best ok, no... More

We stayed for 5 days as a party of nine at this hotel. The manager and the head barman were both excellent, and made us feel very welcome. One of our party broke a key in the lock of their room, so the manager broke the door down and had their things moved to an alternative room while we had... More

Super friendly and charming hotel - a real gem! Retro-charme interior with great sense and love for detail. It's not perfect, but made us always feel at ease - especially in the beautiful and well-lit dining area. Best selection of magazines ever seen in a hotel. Staff was friendly and always helpful. We will definitely come again and again and...

We stayed on January 2012 for one week in the hotel. Pros: cleanliness, very friendly hotel staff, a warm place for snow boards (though a bit small) and snow board shoes had a room to hang them to dry, excellent food, very cozy atmosphere, free Sauna (steam and regular). Cons: the long walk uphill if you want to go to... More

This hotel is suitable for young teenager or very young people who would like to enjoy the spirit of the bad gastein city and do not require any luxury equipment and are ok with lower level of quality of the equipment and the room. The food was very good and also the service and the staff was really very nice,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The sophisticated, slightly fusty imperial and royal charm that pervades the air at the former imperial spa of Bad Gastein in Austria, ends abruptly as you cross the threshold of the Regina. Its youthful manager, Olaf Krohne, a Gastein-enthusiast for many years, has awoken the hotel from what had been a seemingly eternal slumber. The design mixes furnishings reminiscent of the old Baroque with a spark or two of irony. The hotel also boasts a futuristic summit bar at an altitude of 2,161m.Special Features: This hotel is perfectly suited to young and young-at-heart individualists with or without children. Dogs are welcome. It is the ideal base for winter sports. The REGINA’s ski bar is situated at an altitude of 2,161m in Sportgastein in a spherical UFO-style (former) lift, designed by architect Gerhard Garstenauer. The Regina Café at Bad Gastein’s railway centre also belongs to the hotel. In summer, the REGINA Mountain Beach, on the southern side of the hotel, is a great place to relax. A wonderful base from which to experience the mountains, whether you enjoy walking or any other kind of mountain sport. ... more   less
