The Maximilian is a wonderful hotel set in the Austrian countryside outside of Reutte, Austria. The hostess, Gaby, greets you when you check in and provides you with great information on where to seeing the sights of the area (notably King Ludwig's castles in Fuessen, Germany). The staff was very friendly at this hotel and spoke very good English. Gabi gave many suggestions for possible itineraries and lots of help. The rooms were nice and the restaurant was excellent. Our family of 6 were unable to stay at Hotel Maximilian (stayed at the Waldrast down the road which was just fine), but we ate dinner there all three of the nights we were in the Reutte/Ehenbichl area. We only stayed 2 nights but had a great experiance. The town is very small and not too much to do but the hotel is great. Very good resturant and helpful staff more

OK, this was the nicest hotel we stayed at (most expensive also). The proprietors were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very attractive, but retained a slight “homey” feel as well. We had the family room which was large and very comfortable. The breakfast was the largest and nicest of our trip with a large variety of food.... more
