Hotel Plaza Colon is in the middle of the town square in the colonial capital of Nicaragua - Grenada. It's location lends itself to walking and exploring the city, close by to very good restaurants and bars. The staff at the hotel is very professional, many of them worked at fine hotels in the US. The rooms are spacious with... More

The location can't be better, just in front of the main square and short distance to restaurants. The hotel blend very well with the colonial style of the city. I would prefer a slightly bigger room but nothing that I could complain. Daily breakfast was great with a good variety, from "gallo pinto" to an omelet station and great coffee.... More

I booked several rooms for a business trip in August, and can not say enough great things about Hotel Plaza Colon. The staff was friendly, attentive and super helpful. The pool was pristine, the rooms were lovely (with thankfully powerful air conditioning), and the breakfast buffet was convenient and delicious. It's more expensive than other hotels in Granada, but still... More

Stayed at 5 different hotels during a trip to Nicaragua, and this was by far the best. Location was great, right on the square. Short walk to restaurants. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and spoke a surprising amount of English. Breakfast was good, by the pool each day. They could have replenished the fruit a bit more frequently.

One adjective to describe this colonial city is sleepy which adds to the charm. A perfect destination to spend two or three days. If you visit Granada this is 100% the hotel where you want to stay. Superior location on the main square and walkable to just about everything you'll want to visit downtown. We had a room on the... More

My wife and I had a wonderful 4 day stay at Hotel Plaza Colon in Granada. It started off with a very pleasant check in and an amazing coffee from the coffee shop next door as we waited for our room to be ready. I actually think the room was probably already clean, they just needed to prepare our welcome... More

We stayed in this hotel with our two boys 9 and 11 on our trip to granada. The room was beautiful, with a huge balcony overlooking the central square. The breakfast was delicious with many choices and a great selection of fresh fruits and juices. The service of everyone, from reception to waiter to maids in the hotel was wonderful... More

This is a great place in Granada - think "colonial charm" and you won't be far off. We had a two room suite with a balcony overlooking the main square - an awesome place to end the day with cocktail and a beautiful view. Some of the furnishings were a bit basic (and bathroom was small) but A/C and hot... More

We just came back from a week vacation in Nicaragua. Stayed with Hotel Plaza Colon, it was beyond our expectations. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The courtyard pool was simply gorgeous with an array of tropical plants, palms, and so well maintained. Great service. Our favorite part of the breakfast was the passion fruit and the Nicaraguan... This hotel is amazingly charming. The architecture and old world cahrm while still being modern was just my style. It is located smack dab in the center of town on one side of Central Parque. There are horse and buggy rides just like NY central park, except these are about $5 perperson and they will take you all over town... More
