We stayed at Norome for 3 nights expecting a bit of luxury at the beginning of our honeymoon. They organised a taxi for us from Managua airport which while probably a little overpriced was on time and took us directly to the hotel. Our room on arrival was located close to the reception (the resort climbs a long way up... more

Huge disappointment. I´ve visited Lake Apoyo before and stayed at the Monkey Hut - and had a better time there. Upon arrival, our room was moldy and the shower didn´t work. The brochures say you get DirectTV - we got ONE CHANNEL & it was full of STATIC. Not to mention the lovely little army of ants making a home... more

We made a reservation for a three bedroom but when we arrived they charged us for a three bedroom and tried to put us in a two bedroom villa. To make it worse, they tried to convince us that the large open room with a kitchenette, tv, and table was a bedroom. (No bed, no couch, no chairs.) The hotel... more

We spent some time traveling through Nicaragua in August 2007. While I agree with the other reviews in part, I think we were able to overlook a lot of Norome's flaws when we remembered that we were in the middle of the jungle in the middle of a developing country. I think that the staff puts a lot of effort... more

Norome is the place to stay if you love nature but not camping. You can walk around the lake, or up the road, or hike trails up to the top of the rim. The Laguna is pristine and fun to swim in- the breezes off the lake are a life saver. The best rooms in terms of view are right... more

I stayed here with a friend from Managua who had recommended it. The idea was a winter getaway for me and I could not have imagined a better location. The scenery is superbe with foliage, flowers and wildlife in abundance. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, including the more economical ones. The staff is friendly and attentive. The restaurant serves... more

My son and I stayed for one night after visiting the hotel last year. We were dissappointed in not seeing their famous monkeys as it was raining when we arrived. The front desk was extremely helpful but no ATM was available. Luckily I was able to charge everything to my room then charged to my credit card. The road leading... more

The Norome resort was to be the last destination of our Nicaragua package (4 days in Granada, 4 days in San Juan del Sur, 4 days at Norome), a package trip we booked through an agency. After stellar accommodations in Granada (La Gran Francia Hotel) and in San Juan del Sur (Pelican Eyes Resort), we were looking forward to Norome.... more
