We spent 4 nights in Granada at the Hotel Alhambra. This is an upscale hotel on the West side of the Central Park in downtown Granada. We considered TripAdvisor reviews when selecting this hotel. We had already been travelling for a month and needed to stay someplace nice for a few days. The lobby area at the Hotel Alhambra is... more

The Alhambra was surprisingly stylish compared to other hotels I have stayed in in Nicaragua. It's architecture is Spanish colonial and the interior decor has been thoughfully designed to compliment the building. Our room was spacious and the king-sized bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was completely tiled and we had no problems with the plumbing. The bed and bath... more

The hotel is beautiful with an interior courtyard which has a swimming pool in the rear left section. The rooms are comfortable, but ours facing the city's main plaza or park was a bit noisy. At the same time, the view into the park was quite interesting. Although the electricity was interrupted by the country's scheduled blackouts, the hotel's generator... more

We too opted for the cheap room but realized that for a 5 night stay, we didn't want it. Our room's window opened to the lobby. When we talked to Alan, the desk man, he upgraded us to a huge room upstairs for the same price! The hotel is in a perfect location, Alan is a big help and very... more

Hotel Alhambra was quaint, nicely decorated and certainly the oldest building in Granada. Our room consisted of 4 single beds for our family. Very clean room considering how old. You had a t.v. with many channels-only one English. A good sized bathroom-only the shower head-you had to run around to get wet! The air conditioning worked, however, it was 200... more

The overall property is wonderful. It was great to be right on the main square and the lobby area and front porch are lovely. I think the rooms vary quite a bit. We went for the "cheap seats" at $50 a night and got a room that was very dark with the only window out onto an air shaft with... more

This is a very good place, a main hotel in the main square of this nice city. I have got great memory in this place, a luxury for Nicaragua standards and also for me, after many cheaper accommodation around central America. But the price is still good for a european tourist more

The Alhambra is right on the plaza in Granada. Staff is excellent. By Nicaraguan standards, it is luxury. It is not luxurious. But this is Nicaragua, and if you wanted luxury, why did you go to Nicaragua? If you want to meet wonderful, kind, open, people, then Nicaragua is the country and the Alhambra is the place. Air con works... more

For Nicaragua this is an expensive hotel. However when compared to hotels in the UK (especially) and the US, then $60 a night for a spacious and comfortable triple room with cable tv, large bathroom, all in a smart and very well presented hotel represents (to me) value for money. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food... more

We spent 2 nights at the Hotel Alhambra in Granada. It's one of 3 recommended tourist hotels in the city and is well situated on the city square, pretty much walking or quick cab ride to major sites. The hotel is a rennovated, very old colonal building which gives you a genuine feel for the culture city. The lobby is... more
