We stayed here for one night as part of our Costa Rica/Nicaragua Monkey Tour. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and quite classic. The room was so pretty with a gorgeous canopy bed and a cute bathroom. There was excellent hot water and water pressure which was unique for our trip, many places did not have as good of a shower.... I go to Granada frequently, and out of all the hotels I've stayed at Hotel Colonial is by far the best, most luxurious hotel and also the best value for that luxury! Plus I love hotels that have a nice pool, and in Granada it's hard to find a hotel with a pool. There aren't many that have pools. But... More

Great hotel right off the square. Everything was very clean, the pools were lovely, the breakfast was reasonable and made to order and the staff was extremely helpful. Would highly recommend Hotel Colonial - great value!

I want to start by saying the manager at this hotel is extremely accommodating. I was so impressed by his level of service. The hotel grounds are really like no other and the location is perfect for a night out or shopping. My only negative comment is the bartender spoke next to no English and barley smiled. Their menu was... More

Concerning our barmaid I have to say that she just had a tough time in private life while your stay at Hotel Colonial. I know that this is not... More

This place is a great choice. I just got back from my second trip, and the first time I stayed in a larger hotel that was not well kept. Hotel Colonial is not as small as I thought, and actually the rooms are very comfortable, and the place is beautifully decorated and perfectly maintained. Besides, the breakfast is wonderful, and... A really charming place on the edge of the main square. It oozes faded colonial touches and has a great authentic feel to it. Don't expect modernity as it's strengths are in the colonial grandeur and great service, so appreciate the beautiful tiling in the bathroom rather than wonder why the water pressure is weak! It has two small pools... More

This hotel was one of the first places I've ever stayed where the facilities were even more beautiful than the photos. Very clean and lovely large room with beautiful bathrooms and hot water. The front desk attendant was helpful, knowledgable and friendly. The breakfast food was nice, although unlike other local hotels, breakfast was not included. All the rooms look... More

Stayed here for one night as part of a guided tour in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. By far the best place we stayed on the whole trip. Our tour group had a boat tour scheduled the evening we arrived but it was canceled because of the rain so we all went to the bar at the hotel. The young lady... More

The hotel is great as usual. Centrally located and moderately priced. You can walk everywhere. I am alone this time, but my wife usually comes with me. Trips are a combination of business and pleasure. My business is in Managua, but Managua is not very interesting. It is a 45 minute drive. I can hire a driver to take me... More

The hotel was very charming and steps (less than 1 minute) away from the main square. There were two lovely pools, a great (and inexpensive) bar and the people there really seemed to care about how we were enjoying our stay. Breakfast was good, it was not buffet. The room had a mosquito net on the King bed, TV, and... More
