This hotel is conveniently located just a few blocks from the town square. It is a former colonial mansion with beautiful hardwood and tile floors. There is a cacao museum on premises, and the mansion has been upgraded, with a/c in the rooms and flatscreen cable tv. There is a beautiful courtyard pool with a bar overlooking the pool area.... We stayed at Mansion de Chocolate last year for 10 days and had a wonderful stay. It is located far enough away from the center of town to be quiet, yet close enough to walk everywhere. We had a nice room with private bath and ac that opened onto a large patio area with seating area. Along with the room... More

I'll make it short. Our room was large but had no windows so it felt a bit depressing. We also weren't given a blanket for our bed and we had to ask multiple people to get an actual blanket and not more sheets. The breakfast was mediocre and the staff seemed like they'd love to be anywhere but there. The... More

Tom, I see from your other reviews you tend to be a harsh critic. Mansion de Chocolate is a faithfully restored colonial mansion dating from about 1860, and as such, some of the rooms ORIGINALLY did not have windows to keep them cool in the oppressive heat of Granada. However, in the restoration we made sure that all of the... More

We went for 1 night at Granada. We found this hotel, they treat us right, they give us 1 chocolate when we get there. The rooms were big, and i like it very much. They have A/C, a pool area, pretty decoration. The booking came with 1 relaxing massage for 30 minutes.

Thank you for staying with us. The chocolate we gave you was made right on the premises at ChocoMuseo, from Nicaraguan organic cacao beans. Next time you are in Granada I hope you will stay longer to enjoy many of our other spa treatments; each night´s stay comes with a free spa treatment! And I´m glad you say we "treated... More

This was the first hotel we stayed in, in Nicaragua and if you get a bit anxious like me when you first arrive in a new country this is the hotel for you to settle your nerves! The hotel is in a central location, big rooms, massive bathroom with hot water and very clean. There's a lovely pool with a... More

I stayed here 5 years ago when I was backpacking through Nicaragua as a splurge at the end of our trip and it was amazing. I was pleasently surpised this time around to find it just as great. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and it is a great price for what is inclueded. When I first came here... More

Thank you for your staying with us, and thank you for your review. We include a complimentary spa treatment with each night´s stay, and I´m glad you enjoyed it. You really understand what we´ve tried to create here - a hip boutique hotel in a beautifully restored colonial mansion. More

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel and it was ok. The location is very central and quite. The breakfast is great. The pool area is fine. We stayed in a standard room and it was quit small and very dark as there was only a small window. The room was extremely hot and the air con was not powerful... More

Located in a huge old converted mansion, displaying local artists and incorporating the Choco Museo, this is a lovely central base for visitors to Granada. The hotel itself (which seems to have changed its name to Hotel Spa Granada on other sites?) is spacious, with several courtyards and pleasantly decorated rooms, which are clean and have nicely updated modern bathrooms.... I had the chocolate massage with a sugar scrub. My skin has been very soft even after two showers. The chocolate class was well worth the time, Ishmael was hilarious and knowledgable. I also had a chocolate iced drink that was very good. This has been my favorite activity thus far!

This hotel was amazing! The staff were so friendly and very helpful to us, going out of their way to make us comfortable. Our room was beautiful! So big, clean and luxurious. The pool was also very clean and relaxing. My only small complaint would be that my partner and I both booked the same spa treatment but when discussing... More

So glad that you found us to be "amazing". You are absolutely correct that the spa treatments should be consistent, regardless of the identity of the practitioner. We´ve discussed that with the spa staff in an attempt to try to assure that consistency. Thanks for that constructive suggestion. And thanks for staying with us. Have a great day. More
