This was our second trip to Nicaragua. We had been to Lake Apoyo before, day trip just to swim etc. Wanted to start off our vacation here. Booked directly from their website, transportation was all arranged. Were hoping that a 3 day stay there at the beginning of our vacation would be a good way to quickly "wind down" from... More

I went here with two friends (all of us new to Nica) in March of 2011. I had been in close contact via email with the owner, Shamus, and he arranged to have a safe cab pick us up from the airport and take us to Lago de Apoyo. The driver let us stop for pictures, was perfectly on time,... More

To celebrate my 37th birthday my husband and I decided to take a vacation from our vacation here in Nicaragua. We packed our bags, hopped on the micro bus and made our way to Apoyo Lodge in Laguna de Apoyo. As soon as we put our bags down and got settled into our room I knew we made the right... More

Apoyo Lodge hits all the right notes if you’re in need of some rejuvenation, relaxation and moments of Buddha like bliss. It manages to combine that sought after sense of remoteness (the off road driving on the way there sets the scene nicely) with complete comfort, amazing food and a family like feel which you can chose to embrace or... if you're looking for a spot to get away from it all and have some solid relax time - this is the place. you're really off the beaten path which is what you should want if you're going here. don't expect to be going out to a club at night. expect to have a rum or a tona sitting around... More

Friends and family (all gals!!) planned a trip to Nic to celebrate my sisters 50th birthday. Sasha and Shamus took great care of us!! The food was fab, rooms were clean and spacious (great having your own bathroom) and the living area very comfortable and inviting. The place has great character yet is so serene and homey. We took advantage... More

My boyfriend and I loved Apoyo Lodge. Our favorite place in Nicaragua hands down! Everything beat our expectations, from the delicious and healthy food prepared by Sasha, the suites over looking the lake, to their three adorable dogs! If we're ever back to Central America, we will for sure be stopping at Apoyo Lodge! Tory and Ali More

My wife and I spent this past winter in Central America and had searched both Costa Rica and Nicaragua looking for a decent, semi-affordable place to base ourselves for a few months. Well, we searched and searched, the Corn Islands, San Juan del Sur, the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and.... nothing. Then, after a month or so, becoming increasingly... More

Great Stay! Would recommend to everyone! After backpacking for a few weeks, was a great, peaceful (and CLEAN) place to stay and recharge our batteries. Came during the rainy season but was still not disappointed. We "splurged" (an extra 20$ or so) for the extra room with the private balcony and deluxe bathroom but from what I saw, the regular...
