I'm sure all of our glowing comments have been written already, but it's true: this place is beautiful, friendly, quiet, and relaxing. Great food, beautiful pool, great casitas. We had a great 2-hour bird watching kayak tour early morning with Jorge. The excursions are quite pricy to what you can organize on your own, but you do end up with... More

Everything about Jicaro was amazing. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night but were treated so well from the moment we got off the boat. We took out the kayaks and explored the isletas, watched the murciélagos come out at dusk, and were treated to a surprise special table to celebrate our Honeymoon. We got... More

Great spot on its own private island. Beautiful pool lovely staff and the rooms ah the rooms, like a private treehouse. Loved our stay! The food was a mix of great and okay, dinner selections could be a little better bit the food was good. Great escape from the beautiful city next door!

During my vacation at Jicaro I was the most relaxed that I have ever been. Everything was set up to make the trip as pleasant, stress-free, and enjoyable as possible, beginning the moment that my husband and I were greeted at reception by Regina (and later Claudia), to when we were greeted by the staff on the island with a... We stayed at Jicaro from the end of May into the beginning of June (start of the rainy season). Although it did rain some, the rain didn't impede our daily activities or hamper our stay at the lodge. The staff are absolutely friendly and attentive but not overbearing. During our stay, there were 7 guests including ourselves, and everyone got... More

Jicaro is simply stunning. It's an ecolodge with all the amenities, amazing food and great views of sunset. The kayaking is great with tons of birds to see if you're into that. The tower has a nice view and the pool is very cool. It's perfect if relaxing is what you're looking for. I came with a group of 13... More

First off, the most impressive thing about the lounge was that it was well-run. The staffs are very friendly who dedicated to provide good service. We are very fond of our servers, receptionist and tour guide as they were all professionally trained. The concept of the private island is great, especially when we were there, it was not crowded at... More

As a very private island property, the lodge is extremely expensive for Nicaragua, but worths extra money! While the spaces are limited, you can enjoy so many benefits like a pool, perfect massage or very good meals far from the civilization. Okay, not so far, but this is kinda luxury. The staff is lovely, meals are okay (a bit under... More

This incredible ecogem on Lake Nicaragua surpassed all expectations. The service was outstanding, the manager personable and present, the food outstanding. Rooms are authentic and gorgeous without any pretense. All sustainable too. No bugs, incredibly comfortable temperatures between 70 and 90, always with a breeze blowing. We had the most remarkably relaxing time. Drinks are reasonably priced and the staff... More

The boat ride itself to Jicaro starts your adventure. As you zip by islands, houses, volcano as a back drop...you know your going someplace adventurous. Greeted by Ma-kwa drinks on a tray, you walk into paradise. Treehouse type Casistas circle around the small island. All are the same, just different views. Casitas 3 - 4 are graced with sunrise views... More
