The good news is that it's cheap. This hostel felt more like a home-stay except the family doesn't make you feel very welcome in their home. It felt awkward at times. The owner is friendly enough, but the whole vibe at this place is a bit weird. The wi-fi only works in the front room of the hostel where the... More

We arrived from Ometepe and found out that our two rooms that we reserved, were not available. The owner barely apologized and said that it wasn't his fault, that it was that booking.com didn't tell him. He arranged for us to stay at another hotel, for the same price, but it was 3 blocks away. The girl at the desk... More

It is 1/2 block from the Parque Central, quiet, clean enough and the owner is very friendly. It is a short walk to where the micro bus stop is and a few blocks to 2 other bus 'stations'. The single rooms are small and plain and the use of the kitchen is not really clear. And, for downtown Granada, it... More

I thought I got good value for what I paid ($14pn single room) particularly given its location and that in general accommodation in Granada tends to be expensive by Nicaragua comparison. The room is basically a bed, shelf and small table with a fan, which was sufficiant to keep the room cool enough at the time I stayed. The shower... More

I don't like writing negative reviews, but San Angel is what it is: worn-out. The garden can use a cleanup, and the rooms need renovation and new mattresses urgently. Granada was hot at the time we were there, so pray that both fans keep on working, you'll need them as the room is small with only one tiny window. For... More

In general a friendly family hostel. Not really special, but nice enough to stay more than one night. Service is good and friendly, though besides of the ever courtuous manager I expected some more regular smiles of other family members or employers. The room is big enough for a single person. No airco in very hot Granada, but two big... More

We got fleeced via Booking.com when we paid $29 for a dump of a room - the beds were dirty and broken. We felt cheated as the next day we found an excellent place for $20! The owner is ripping off people by charging $29 for something that is worth only $12 (the owner is a sweet person nevertheless the... More

We picked Hostel San Angel from the internet, solely based on its location and price, and were thrilled with our good luck. It's just a few paces from Granada's central cathedral and park, on a quiet side street. (In the tripadvisor picture, that's the central cathedral above the roofline to the left.) Quite cheap, very comfortable, clean, quiet and safe.... More

San Angel was a great choice: close to the buses and the main square. The rooms are fine, especially if you're not planning on spending too much time in them anyway, and they are clean and comfortable and very reasonable (we had 2 rooms for 3 people at $30 in July). The family-owners are very friendly and helpful. We had no... More

The hostel is greatly located just off the main plaza and quite cheap ($18 for a double). It has a nice patio and intresting owners (on one of the night there was some sort of a religious club meeting in the lobby). So why such a bad rating? Well, for starters, the room wasn't super clean and quite damp -... More
