From the reservation stage until the end of my stay the whole experience was a pleasure. Shaun, the owner, has great sense of how to welcome customers. He also runs the Scuba Dawgs dive shop which I also had a excellent experience with. For the price I can't think of a place where I received better value. The rooms are... More

Stayed with Shawn and nar, for 6 days at the start of the close season, mainly for the diving but also for a bit of R&R and boy does it come up good with great views out over the beach and sea, it's really quite in close season but still great to walk round the shops and pier with some... More

Well situated accommodation for Bang Bao pier - a 7 minute walk from the main area. I had a sea view room which was a great location meters away from the ocean. Spacious room with 2 safes, good air con, fridge/freezer with 2 bottles of complimentary water each day and rooms cleaned each day with fresh towels. The restaurant served... More

Having read mixed reviews i opted for the basic huts. The room was basic but clean and the views amazing. This place is just beautiful. If you want clean and sterile go for the aircon rooms. If you want an amazing view go for the huts. Toilets were basic but clean. Staff very friendly. I booked for 3 days but... More

Interesting to read others' reviews on the basic huts, especially OregOn's comment on bed bugs. I, too, was badly bitten (in bed) whilst staying in hut 31, but I put it down to ants as I was guilty of taking food in to the hut - and the biting seemed to stop after I blitzed the hut with ant killer.... I had a great experience with Cliff Cottage and Scuba Dawgs! They had a reasonable deal for scuba diving certification which included room/board. The staff were responsive, respectful and friendly. In fact I decided to go for my advanced certification just a couple days before heading to Ko Chang and the reservation process was seamless (via email). I stayed in... More

If you are wanting to learn Scuba Diving, this is the place. They offered a great price on Padi Open Water Certification, and the Bungalo rooms were free. The restaurant is nestled in a small cove, up against a cliff. Nice place to enjoy a beer. Scuba Dawgs Diving was a great experience. Thanks, Ken S. Shasta County, California

We rented a cottage, number 31, with a great view of the Ocean and perfect for sunsets. We really enjoyed the place at first. Sure the hut was run down...there was no bathroom...when it rained it dripped onto the bed... but it seemed like the perfect little rustic place to spend a week. The restaurant was very expensive we discovered,... More

Pretty close to the vibrant Lonely Beach, but an easy eacape from the party noise when you had enough. We payed for a Basic bungalow, shared bathrooms and toilet. You get a great view and the staff is super friendly. They also have the Islands cheapest diving lessons. LS

So let me start by saying this is the ONLY place in Thailand that has demanded money upfront for the duration of our entire stay. Afterwards we realised it is probably because there are much cheaper, better places locally that aren't online that you find once you've been staying in Cliff Cottages, but by the point you're there and have... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
BOOK FOR 3 AND STAY 4TH NIGHT FREE. The way Thailand used to be. Cliff Cottage is a secluded and picturesque resort. The new wooden bar / restaurant is built over the sea in a private cove. There are very few places so picturesque. It's a great place to relax. If you need to be entertained and like the noisy bars then Cliff Cottage is NOT for you. The bar area and many bungalows offer a great place to relax and watch the sunset. Close to the Bang Bao pier nicely located for those seeking to travel on to the other islands, take boat trips or try snorkeling and diving. ... more   less
