We stayed at the Himalayan Hideaway Lodge in February 2014. It is a beautiful, quaint place to stay. The food is excellent and the staff could not be more helpful. There are many things to do in the area during the day, all of which the staff will arrange for you. There is river rafting, hiking, touring, etc. You can... More

From the word go it was an experience beyond all expectations. We were greeted by heavy rains as we drove to this idyllic abode tucked away in the hills. The visibility was near zero and we were out of network boundaries. Slowly the mountains embraced us and we lost the world, except for a few cars zipping past us. All... More

The sort of review that you have written is truly "heart warming" for me as the owner. Its wonderful to know that you have picked up on the little nuances of the interiors and the exteriors and you have "felt" exactly what we wanted to communicate!! We don't want to pontificate or "tell" people how they should enjoy their holiday.....that's... More

We were there over the weekend for the Rishikesh Half Marathon. Our room was spacious and comfortable overlooking the Ganga. A nice retreat with no television or mobile/3G connectivity to intrude. The small restaurant on premise served excellent food, including chicken and beer. Good for those of us deprived in a dry and vegetarian place. Good service and nice staff.

Hi there! Hope you had a good Marathon! Come again. FYI the Marathon was partly organized by our sister concern Himalayan River Runners, our tented camp is 2kms down stream of the Himalayan Hideaway and because of this close connection between the two properties we are able to offer rafting, hiking, kayaking etc to our guests at the Himalayan Hideaway.... This was our third stay at HH and we asked the HH Team to suggest some overnight adventure/rafting options for our family of 4 (2 kids 9 & 12 year) plus a friend that we could do during our 5 days stay at HH. Thus on day three of our stay we were picked up at 8 am (after breakfast)... More

Many thanks for your encouraging comments. In fact you have further strengthened our resolve to pitch ourselves to families and friends' groups who want a "true" outdoors experience and NOT something simulated and artificial ;) Your review has also shown the contiguous way our sister company Himalayan River Runners works with Himalayan Hideaway. You were able to get the outdoors... More

Thank you so much for all your wonderful encouragement! The Hideaway does seem "hidden" away even though its in plain sight on the main road! :) This is mostly because of our mature garden, I think. For your information we are developing more nature trails around the Hideaway. Of course the beach camp is not far away from the Lodge.... More

This was the perfect place to stay in Rishikesh, the lodge's rustic charm fully in keeping with the natural environment. The rooms are large and clean, the food good and varied, and the manager and the wait staff went out of their way to accommodate the needs of our group of 8. The rafting trips they arranged for us were... More

This lovely leafy retreat sits on a hillside beyond Rishikesh and above the Ganga. It's the perfect place for stressed out city dwellers seeking peace, calm and fresh air! it would also make a good stop on a pan-Indian tour for foreign visitors. Great for families because you can use it as a base for other activities - treks, kayaking,... More

Many thanks for your supportive words. Do come again. Because of our local and indigenous garden, we remain quite green even at the height of summer in April and May and then the switch to the lush emerald green is spectacular when the rains come. Do come and enjoy all the different changes of season :) More

This was one of those sudden decisions - thought it through on Saturday, made bookings, and drove on Sunday. A relaxed 7 hour drive and all of about 280 kms door to door for us from South Delhi with a couple of stops en route saw us there by about 4pm. Check in, rhodendron juice for starters, and into one... More
