Aimee and her team made us feel so welcome at this small palace, which has been in the Holkar family for 3 centuries. We felt truly like guests. Part of its charm is the proximity to the daily life of the local Maheshwaris on the ghats below the fort. The meals are delightful mixtures of English and Indian cuisine. The... More

Stayed her for 2 nights - it was a very relaxing experience. Amy welcomed us to the hotel and personally showed us around. Rooms are nice and spacious - have the old world charm, No TV in the rooms - so good way to relax, think, ponder, talk. Personal attention is paid to every guest of this heritage hotel. Since... I could fill the page with superlatives about the hotel, the rooms, the grounds, the staff, the food, the location, etc.... In short, this is the nicest hotel experience that I have ever had - including some stays at Ritz Carlton hotels, Rock Resorts in the Caribbean, and top end hotels in Boston. I would love to return here and... More

I was here for four nights, and wished I could have stayed longer. I was genuinely sad to leave this little piece of paradise on earth. I strongly recommend a palace room - they are large and tastefully decorated. The fort is well kept, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are immaculately clean. What more can I say? This... More

AHILYA FORT, MAHESHWAR, NEAR INDORE: We stayed at this heritage hotel for 3 nights from 29th August, 2014. THE HOTEL: The management needs to be complimented for maintaining the aesthetics of the Fort and still provide most of the comforts required in this category of hotels. We had an occasion to meet the architect from Delhi who is responsible for... More

A wonderful heritage hotel literally in the heart of India. Amazing location overlooking river Narmada. They grow their own organic veggies... so expect fresh tasty food served elegantly in a new venue within the fort everytime. They even arranged a candlelight dinner for us by the riverbed island which we had to reach by boat. We stayed at the Royal... More

It's hard to know where to start. Ahilyah Fort is in the middle of Nowhere India but well worth the journey to get there. WE flew to Indore and had a car to Maheshwar. The place is a heritage hotel and the palace of the Prince who is a wonderful host. The rooms are all different. We booked the one... More
