Ahilya fort is a place where you should go if you are not a 5 star person, the hotel is beyond the definition of luxury. It is a different experience. Absolute peace and tranquility. Enjoy the food from the farms owned by the property. They have the true definition of the word "Service". I would advice you to take the... More

Maheshwar is a town about 90 kms from Indore. Airport is in Indore, and we traveled by taxi to Maheshwar. Had no expectations at all from the place. The moment we checked in the hotel, which actually is a fort, built centuries ago by great Ahilya Bai Holkar, I was sucked into the charm of the place. Kept entirely in... More

It isn't an exaggeration when it is said that living at Ahilya अहिल्या Fort Maheshwar (just 90 km from Indore, the nearest airport) is akin to a stay at Prince Richard Holkar's home. Our 2 days weekend stay was a fabulous authentic experience of royal Maratha मराठा hospitality! What impressed us the most? Several highlights indeed. First & the foremost,... More

One of the best places I have ever been to. Awestruck by the property . I have never been treated so good in any other hotel in India. A quite Haven. An absolute must. We went there for our anniversary celebrations and they were so courteous to make it even more special. Its like a home away from home .... More

We visited Ahilya Fort in February, which is perfect weather-wise, and were very well looked after. The management team are courteous and friendly, and attend to all one's requirements with professionalism and grace. The hotel is an historic building, sympathetically and tastefully renovated, and providing the best in understated elegance India-style - the ambience is elegant in a relaxing, airy... More

The old Ahilya Fort and family seat of the Holkars, this is a real slice of Indian history. Rooms are individually styled and comfortable. The gardens are beautiful with secluded seating and a busy kitchen garden which supplies the hotel with fresh fruit and vegetables. There are quiet courtyards and a terrace where we enjoyed a stunning view of river... More

Live in history! This hotel is an old fort of the Holkar dynasty converted into a wonderful boutique hotel. The rooms are individually done and very interesting. The place has all the required amenities including a pool right on top of the fort! And a well stocked library which has kids books. Meals are excellent. Staff helpful. And the best... More

What a fantastic place. Right on the edge of the river which is within easy reach and worth doing the boat trip to the temple in the middle of it. One can walk along the gahts and meet the people which is great fun. The hotel is wonderful - food, service, quaintness and exceedingly friendly. The vegetable gardens are a... More

This hotel included all ones requirements - even mosquito repellent . The staff were amazing as were the other guests and the stay was an unforgettable experience. It was all so exciting with a wonderful view of the ghats and the many people going to the river Narmada. The Monday evening puja plus a yearly festival which meant lots of... More

We came with the Deccan Heritage Foundation trip after visiting very special places like Udaipur; crossing the village of Maheswar, busy, horn hanking, nothing special to note, and the gate of the fort, the courtyard already stunning then after a small door:.. paradise, time has stopped, a wonderful host greeting you with his wife give you the impression of being...
