Did not stay here but visited on several occasions for drinks and food. Beautiful location across the road from Tamarin beach. Excellent staff here, as friendly and helpful as we met anywhere in Mauritius. Visited twice for sundowners and on another occasion for a meal with our daughter. Evening meals are buffet style, whether resident or not, on this evening... More

The place to be for Music Lovers and if you have the opportunity do look into the Jazz Festivals often organized there; you can also go there as an outsider guest for a lunch or apero or dinner or for the entertainment. The General Manager is an excellent saxophonist and I hope you have the opportunity to listen to him.... More

The good: Nice pool area and very friendly staff. The bad: 1) Rooms are very run down and dirty: Stained curtains, holes in the bedding, mosquitos, dirty bathroom, broken closets, 2 ligh bulbs out, aircon vent broken. Don't be fooled by the photos provided by the hotel...check the real ones below! 2) Poorly Managed: When we complained about the state... More

The hotel is located across the street from the public beach. I loved my stay there. Small hotel with a nice atmosphere. The rooms are filled with vibrant colours. The food was nice. Oh and for an additional charge you get to go on a speedboat to watch the dolphins in the lagoon. Price is value for money.

Having read about the Tamarin we decided to visit and have a sundowner or three in the outdoor bar (where the musicians play). It's quite an experience if you like lots and lots of primary colours; walls, chairs, pretty well everything is bright and buzzy, even the cocktails match the decor! Do go and see it, plus the view from... More

We liked this place. Yes, it's a bit rough around the edges, but it's good value, unpretentious, friendly and we enjoyed our stay. The 70's decor is great, there is live jazz in the evenings, and dolphin trips leave from outside the front entrance, which is directly opposite tamarin beach. The food isn't brilliant but the drinks are good value... More

I stayed here for three nights on business. The hotel was excellent and had very comfortable beds and the staff friendly. The food was also extremely good. The location is quite and very close to the beach.

We didn't stay here, but used it repeatedly for lunch during our holiday. Very quickly the staff started to recognise us, and made us feel very welcome. They took pride in remembering what we liked to drink each day. By the end of our stay, we were welcomed like old friends; their friendliness really encouraged us to keep going there.... More

We just stayed there for 4 days in mid-October. Tamarin is an excellent spot to stay if you really want a quiet corner of the island. Its primarily an affluent upper-middle class residential area, and there are no neighbouring hotels, so you probably will not see a lot of tourists walking around. This "local" atmosphere also means that you won't... More
