The Wayside used to have a fairly extensive sort of old fashioned menu. Things like meatload and mashed potatoes, open faced hot turkey sandwiches, etc. This trip is seems that the restaurant now has a very limited menu and nothing really noteworthy. After many trips here over the years, the new menu is enough to make me not go there... more

The Wayside Inn has some good points, particularly if you are interested in history. The Civil War battle of Cedar Creek spilled over into the street outside, and the hotel can be clearly seen in contemporary prints of the battle. My Mother and I happened upon the Wayside Inn while traveling. We liked the history and quaintness of it. The food was excellent, as was the service.
