Have stayed here 4 time previously and have always really enjoyed the stay. Each time a different room and all very nice, quaint and cozy. This stay was no different. The service is excellent and the breakfast was good as well. Being a Tuesday in the off season the restaurant and bar were not open, but just a few blocks... More

Our group of twelve from near and far gathrred to share a meal, wine, and impressions of the Rebellion. The wine and food were excellent as were the explanations of the many artifacts of colonial life in this beautiful Valley.

My husband and I stayed here one night in August. We had been there over 30 years before and had loved it then. We did not know it had gone through a period of decay and bad management since then. Luckily for us, the new owners have just recently restored it to its previous charm and beauty. The food was... More

Based on the number of rave reviews, I can only imagine that some people really love historic buildings. Yes, there was a certain charm and lots of history at this inn and yes, the staff was friendly and accommodating (for example, when I noticed there was no ice or fridge in the room, I asked for ice and someone promptly... The Inn is a beautiful historic place with a lot of details where you can spend a few hours just wondering the rooms. The indoor well in the Tavern is a fun feature. The owners and staff are very nice and most helpful to make it a very pleasant stay. We will certainly return.

Our family lives in Shenandoah County near Woodstock, VA . Last week my 89 year old mother and I needed to vacate our home due to the application of an epoxy based foam insulation. Mom uses a walker and is rather frail. While chain hotels were available, we opted to stay at the Wayside Inn which is a regional treasure.... More

We decided to go away for the night as a last minute decision. My fiance and I love going to unique places, especially with lots of history and charm. Wayside Inn was a great decision! Becky and George were very hospitable and welcoming. The atmosphere of Wayside Inn was very warming. We were able to explore the whole Inn, and... More

The Wayside Inn is many things: charming, comfortable, and filled with history. It's close enough to I-81 but feels more remote. Becky Reeves, hostess and co-owner, was extremely pleasant, performing a variety of chores that ranged from being available to answer questions for out-of-towners to helping serve breakfast. Speaking of which, the hot breakfast that's included in the fee is... More

We first visited Wayside Inn about 15 years ago. We decided to return because of such fond memories. This place is definitely worth a visit and makes a perfect location for a weekend get away. Surround the inn are tons of wineries, a farm brewery and lots of hiking. The inn itself is the oldest, continually operating inn in the... More

We stayed here for our 44th Anniversary and it was so relaxing and wonderful. The food was delicious and very generous. They had music in the bar that eveing. Our bedroom was very comfortable and quiet. This historical Inn is outstanding! Right off I-81 in Middletown, VA. Great stay for couples or just to get away. Near attractions as Civil... More
