The Sunday brunch at Harriman's located in the Salamander Resort was exceptional. The food was great and presented beautifully. On the unlimited buffet were many fresh fruits, lots of homemade breads, nice selection of hot entrees including 2 types of sausages, wonderful biscuits and gravy, the expected pancakes and french toast plus smoked salmon! Don't forget to ask for the... More

Decided to go out of town for my birthday. If you don't mind an hour drive from Washington DC and want first class try Salamander Resort. The resort is beautiful. The buffet brunch was reasonably priced and it was nicely done. I will definitely visit again very soon.

My wife, 3 kids (7, 5, 3 yr olds) wanted a 'night away' at this local resort. Hoping for a little rest and fun in the snow. Great atmosphere, but they haven't worked out the optimal logistics yet -- for families. Resort reserves rooms in the very far extensions of the resort for families which means the walk from the... Thank you for the feedback. We do not have rooms that we assign especially to families in a particular location, the rooms are assigned according the room type booked and any other requests made. While a suite may be suitable for families, they are not designed nor intended for that specific use. Your point about the linens for the rollaway... More

This was an absolutely amazing place to stay. Exceptional on every level. We WILL be returning and bringing the family. The staff was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. The room was spacious comfortable and the view was breathtaking from the balcony. One of the best places my wife and I have ever stayed.

We were privileged to be able to stay one night at the Salamander Resort. The food, service, accommodations and spa were spectacular. I cannot remember a place where every staff member on the property were so focused on attending to our every need, and ensuring we had a great time. The property is beautiful, and even in the colder weather offered... I received better and friendlier service at Holiday Inn. This resort needs to overhaul it's management as staff are obviously not trained properly. At these prices, you'd think they'd pay some attention to their guests. I still have not received a reply from the management to an email I sent over 2 weeks ago. I never complain, but the rude,... Beautiful interior. Great location in horse country. I went for a Girls' Spa (bday) wkend w/ 7 friends & unfortunately, we had several problems w/ service accommodations that put an unnecessarily damper on our trip.

The resort is beautiful and the rooms are excellent. We really enjoyed our stay. My only complaint is the check-in process was extremely slow. We didn't receive our keys until 6 p.m. That's unacceptable for a five star resort. I've been allowed to check-in at a Marriott at noon. Overall, it was a great stay and the rooms are top... More

Thank you so much for the great comments and high scores! You are right to point out the you should have been able to start enjoying the resort sooner, by 4pm at the latest. We certainly appreciate you patience, but would like to ensure that upon a return visit to us, we extend a check-in that is early as you... More

This was my second stay here, still enjoyed the actual Resort. used the Car Service, Concierge Service, lovely Fireplace, however, the Service in the Gold Cup Restaurant is Unacceptable for such a Highly Rated Resort. Needlesstosay, we had early evening appetizers and breakfast on Valentines Day

We had a great time. Staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Resort is very clean, and ambiance is superb. Lots of activities to do. A bit pricey though.I would recommend this resort and would go there again. You can bring your dogs as well, we saw several people at the resort with them. The outdoor fire pits are awesome. Ask...
