An historical must-see on the Blue Ridge Parkway! We have 7 rustic cabins that were built by the CCCs in 1935; to house themselves while they worked on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The grounds are well-kept, and the entire place is very peaceful. The cabins are positioned in a semicircle, around the bath house. Since this is National Park Service Property, it is secluded, surrounded by woods, and has open grassy areas, birds, and wildlife. A short walk away is the 2-mile connector trail down to the 10.5-mile Rock Castle Gorge hiking loop, it takes the better part of a day to complete all 14.5 miles. Each cabin has 2 full-sized beds in it, you can rent a rollaway cot for an additional $8 per night, and we provide all your bedding and extra blankets. There is also a small kitchen in each cabin, which contains a full-sized fridge, mini double-burner stove, microwave, 4-cup coffee maker, and small sink with cold-running water. We provide utensils, dishes, and some cookware. We have outdoor games like volleyball, badminton, croquet, horse shoes, and frisbee, to make you get outside with your family. People all seem to enjoy rocking on their front porch in their rocking chairs, it is a nice escape to simpler times.
