This is a very good choice for business person. The staff is pleasant. The rooms are a little bigger than standard. They are clean and nicely appointed. The restaurant is surprisingly good. One minor whine: its hours are 5-ish to 9-ish.

Very clean hotel. The staff at the front desk are very friendly, helpful and personable. The food in the restaurant is outstanding and priced well. The pulled pork sandwich is better than any chain restaurant has to offer. The room was comfortable, a great place to relax. The beds and pillows were to our liking. Would not stay anywhere else... Welcoming and easy stay at the Kirkley while on a college visit to LU. Room is spacious and clean, nice linens and towels. Staff has the gift of hospitality, had a fresh cut rose and chocolate truffles in our room to welcome us, very nice touch. Would have been a perfect experience except the bed is a full, not queen,... I'm really glad I gave the Kirkley another chance! When you first walk into the Kirkley, you will notice the beautiful changes. To the left, you will see a beautiful place to dine. It is open and airy and gives a wonderful feeling. Straight ahead, you will see that there is new furniture that appeared to be leather. I loved... More

I debated between "meh" (3 stars) and "ick" (2 starts) and Jerry talked me into ICK. Stayed here recently on a quick stopover in Lynchburg. I used to live in the city a while ago and was familiar with it, but I never heard of this and for some reason the address seemed familiar. As I discovered, this property is... More

This was my second visit to the Kirkley (last visit was 3 years ago) and it is still clean and comfortable, but now looks even better! The first step into the lobby was quite impressive. The floor shined and the new restaurant just inside the main door looked outstanding. Unfortunately, it was closed on Sunday and Monday so we did... More

This was nice hotel, but some things made me go "hmmmm" and hence the 3 stars instead of 4. I was only on the premise for about 10 hours so for the most part can only comment on the room. Let's just say it was huge. Like twice the size of a typical hotel room. The furnishings were unique and... More

We stayed four nights at the Kirkley for a basketball tournament that was held at Liberty University, and we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The building is a bit older but well kept. We were treated to a nice free breakfast every morning and they were more than adequate. If I were to stay in the area... More

The Kirkley has had a makeover: interior, common areas, and guest rooms all have a new look of comfort and haven that delivers. But the new dining room and bar are what really distinguishes the new from the old and worn. An ambitious menu and wine list with superbly finished dishes, especially the fish, and especially (in mid-March), the grilled... More

PROS: indoor pool, CLEAN, lounge, dining, room service, large HD TV, nice room arraignment and comfortable bed, friendly staff. CONS: almost two inch gap under door, you can hear everything in the hallway, lounge is not enclosed from public spaces, no top sheet on bed only a duvet cover ( does this cover get washed daily?), only two pillows on...
