Spent four delightful nights at this beautiful country inn. The setting is idyllic, the accommodations comfortable elegance and the food (breakfasts and dinners) a gourmet's delight. It is about a 45 minute drive from Charlottesville, Monticello and Ashton Hall, but the drive is well worth the sacrifice in order to experience the hospitality of the owners of this exceptional inn. more

We recently stayed at Meander for Cooking School for their Mardi Gras themed classes. We stayed an extra night (Sunday prior to Cooking School) and visited Barboursville Vineyards which is only about 20-30 minutes away. It was our first VA wine experience and it was great! We stayed in "Summer Kitchen" which is a two story extension off the main... more

The plantation is beautiful and the owners are nice, but this place was problematic on many levels. We have been to several B&Bs and for the money we paid here, our expectations were not met. RESERVATION: Since I had not received any kind of email or other confirmation, I had to call the inn back days after making an online... more

My husband and I went to the Inn to celebrate both of our Birthdays. Although I mentioned it when I made our reservation, like one of the other reviewers, it was never mentioned nor recognized. Regardless the Inn property is very nice and quiet and the food wonderful. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The grounds are beautiful for walks... more

This was our 3rd trip to Meander, and as always it was a treat. We stayed in Dependency #2, which is off the main house. The best things about the Dependencies are that there is a fireplace and the prices are most reasonable. The fireplace is just lovely, it is so wonderful to be able to sit in front of... more

My girlfriend and I just spent two nights here at the end of Dec 2008. The room/house (Summer Kitchen) was nice, decorated perfectly (with a Christmas tree!), comfy bed, and a great fireplace. The shower was bad; turning the hot water up over 1/4 turn made it sound like a machine-gun, too noisy to bear. So our showers were cool... more

We wanted a mother-daughter getaway during the week between Christmas and New Years and chose to spend two nights at the Inn at Meander Plantation. Upon arrival, we were shown to our suite (the Jefferson Suite) which is a very large bedroom with two queen beds (perfect for mother-daughter), two wing chairs, a desk, a table, and a large dresser.... more

My wife and I stayed just one night on our way from NC to Canada. We stayed in a brick cabin that was the old slave quarters. The rooms were nicely decorated and very adequate for the price. The cabins are pet friendly as was the entire staff. We had a very nice reception which was accompanied by a bit... more

This was the single most perfect way I could have possibly spent these few days. If you are at all interested in wine, you won't want to miss the Virginia Wine Academy at Meander Plantation. The most impressive part of this package is the number of experts involved, all willing to share their knowledge and their passion for wine in... more

My wife & I just returned from an exquisite three-night stay at the Meander Inn, near Orange, Va. Our lodging (Washington's Cottage) was phenomenal. The meals were simply awesome. We attended a 2-day cooking school, and just loved every minute of it. This was my first B&B experience, and I must say -- I could get used to the B&B... more
