We stayed here for the purpose of Llama trekking which I told owner (the wife) when I called to book the room. We came in later in the evening and was give a nice tour by the owner. When I asked about the llama tracking he was clueless and I was told maybe. The next morning he agreed to it... More

Stayed with Linda and Chris June 16-19,2015. My 3 children (ages 10, 13, and 16) and I have been looking forward to going to Applewood Inn and trekking with llamas for months. We left my husband (who isn't big on llamas or bed and breakfasts) home, and the four of us had a wonderful, relaxing time together. Breakfast was delicious,... More

Don’t get deceived by the pictures. We stayed in Applewood Inn in May 2015. $180+ per night is way too expensive for this place. The old couple who run this place are BAD hosts. They are only concerned about a prompt check for the stay because they know that the guests won’t return. Room did not have a TV and... More

There are a few things in this review that I feel must be addressed. Our pool was not open until Memorial Day, but the water was still a little cloudy. This usually happens when we have several cloudy/rainy days in a row. The water tested correctly and was perfectly safe. Each of our omelets has four eggs and lots of... More

We were looking for a B&B where we could take our two small dogs and found Applewood. It is set in a beautiful spot in the Virginia countryside. They have three beautiful rooms. Ours was quite large with a a seating area along with the bed area. The bathroom was spacious and included a wonderful soaking tub. Our hosts Linda... More

This is one of my all-time favorite B&Bs! The rooms are comfortable, the views are stunning, and the llama trek is well worth booking. The llamas are nice and friendly, and you walk through beautiful woods. The owners are also friendly and accommodating. I've never seen another B&B built quite like this one; many B&Bs are large homes or mansions... More

My animal obsessed husband and I visited the B&B for a relaxing weekend away. We stayed in the European room and brought our dog with us. The room was cozy and clean. We would have liked to have a TV in the room b/c we were relaxing in more than going out exploring (though we did venture out each day... More

My wife and I spent her birthday weekend at Applewood Inn. Unique house, great hosts, clean and comfortable room, and delicious breakfast. We stayed at Applewood specifically for the llama trekking, which was really fun! It is basically just going for a leisurely hike and "walking" the llamas. The inn is also close to Lexington and area attractions like the... More

My husband and I spent two nights at the Applewood and had a great experience. Chris and Linda were very laid back and accommodating. When checking us in Chris made sure to ask about any food restrictions or requests. The Llamas were wonderful and you have a great view of them in the morning while you eat breakfast. I appreciated... More

We spent three nights at Applewood during a road trip around East America. It's a wonderful spot, nothing but the trees and the cicadas to keep you company. We stayed in the European Room which gets private access to the hot tub - perfect if you open the porch doors wide and let the cool air in while you relax.... More

We were in the European room so we had the smallest sq footage but our own private screened in porch as well as private hot tub. The tub is very deep and mildly jetted but quite nice. From the hot tub you could open the doors to a patio on the front of the house which was essentially private. We... More
