We travel through Lexington Va. several times a year and would always stay at Maple Hall. The owners sold it in April and it has finally reopened and is serving dinner with an award winning chef! We spent the night there on September 9th and were happy to see that it will coming back to its former glory . Our... More

So thrilled to see this beautiful home being lovingly restored by local owners. The rooms are spacious and attractively furnished with a mix of antiques. Dinning was a real treat. Our meal was WONDERFUL! One of the best I have had in a Lexington restaurant. The chef is apparently well known with awards to prove his skill. Servers were well... More

I spent three days here and loved every minute of it. From the time I arrived until the day I left I was treated like family. My room was in the main house and I could just imagine a large family living there in the 1800's. It was quiet and comfortable and full of charm. I had dinner at the... More

The Inn, recently reopened under new, local ownership is like stepping back in time. Wonderful people running the Inn with true pride and "ownership" of the experience. Restaurant 1850 is a treat. Wonderful farm to table experience. Passion about the food they present. Service is truly special. Highly recommended . . . a great stop on a trip or a... More

We've had the pleasure of attending a couple of dining events in this recently re-opened and renovated historic Inn just outside of Lexington, VA. What a wonderful surprise! Philip and Ava are great hosts, and chef Colin Donnelly and his wife Amanda run an amazing kitchen. The rooms have been carefully redone with delightful results - very beautiful and comfortable.... In town for a college visit and this was a great alternative to the many 2-star motels along Lee Highway. The room was clean and comfortable. They're still working out some kinks (the smell of the gas fireplace in our room was quite strong), but we really enjoyed the experience. We also ate at the 1850 restaurant and it was... More

Historic hotel, just reopened. Best accomodations we have slept in for quite some time. Nice people running the Inn. Great dinner too. It was right off Hiway 81, so was great location for our trip. They also allow small pets.

You must go! Just re-opened and it is terrific. The food is out of this world. We had the Buffalo Creek beef and the duck breast. Both meals were perfectly seasoned and had great accompaniments. Wednesday and Thursday no corkage fee! Well done!

What a delightful discovery: Maple Hall has reopened under new ownership! It's a beautiful place and the new restaurant is not to be missed. The food is fabulous--fresh, local farm to table--the chef, an award winning talent. The atmosphere is charming. We plan to dine there every chance we get.

We were so excited to hear that Maple Hall was reopening and couldn't wait to try the new restaurant. We went to Restaurant 1850 on opening night. They meal did not disappoint. It was by far one of the best dining experiences we have had in the area.. All the dishes were fantastic, fresh, and delicious. We really liked how... More
