First let me say that Dahlgren is DEAD. There is very little to do there. I visited my son who was working temporarily at the Navy base. We drove to Waldorf (?) - about 30 minutes away - to go bowling and to Colonial Beach - about 20 minutes away -- for dinner. Colonial Beach is actually kind of nice.... more

Standard, basic hotel. Rooms were clean and everything was in working condition. Typical complementary breakfast was provided each morning. Staff was very friendly and helpful in providing recommendations of what to see in the area and how to get there. There is no fitness facility, but they do have a small pool for relaxing...too small for any swimming. more

The Holiday Inn in King George was a nice place to stay. The rooms were spotless, they always brought plenty of clean towels and the staff was very friendly.
