I recently held a group function at the Hope & Glory. I must say the only downfall I experienced was the fact my wife and I couldnt stay the night because of a medical appointment early the next morning. The food prepared by Chef Anne was excellent. The comments from my group were: best we have had yet, over the... More

My husband and I stayed over the Labor Day weekend and had great service but there were some drawbacks. The boat ride they offer is $55 a person. The website makes the inn look like it is on the water. It is no where near water. They serve wine and beer and not wine from their own winery down the... More

I'm having a hard time deciding between a 2 and a 3 rating. Our experience truly was average. However, when you factor in price, an average experience is unacceptable. My wife and I booked one of the cottages for our one-year wedding anniversary. When we arrived, we were told we didn't have a reservation for the restaurant. This is true,... More

Peace. Bliss. Chill. Home Away from Home. The Hope and Glory Inn has been one of my tried and true, never-fail happy places since I first visited in 2005. Peggy and Dudley (Best Innkeepers Ever), Mezzeret (Hostess Extraordinare) and Anne (Unparalleled Chef) are truly the dream team of small, special inns in the States. The accolades roll in, and they... More

My husband and I spent a much needed weekend away at the Hope and Glory. We were treated so wonderfully by our host Meseret upon arrival. She is wonderful! Also, Peggy and Dudley, the owners were delightful and always made sure everything was up to our liking. Our cottage was tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were scrumptious. The bar... More

When you are paying exorbitant prices, you have the expectation of first-class. The Inn has definitely seen its glory days, and from the inspection of many of the framed articles and newspapers, this was 2002-2007. I realize they have the distinction of being a part of The Select Registry of Inns, but I also know inns are only checked periodically.The... More

Thank you for making us aware of your observations because we can improve only if our guests make us aware of how they feel. However, we strongly believe the picture you have presented our future guests is way off the mark and quite frankly is inaccurate. Although you missed some more recent ones, we do have some dated accolades and... More

My husband and I came to the Hope and Glory Inn to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We had such a wonderful time !! Irvington is a sweet little town that is the perfect place to escape the busy city life - it felt so calm and peaceful. There are also a number of vineyards close by (including Hope and... More

We stayed at the Hope and Glory at the end of July. We booked last minute and we took what they had left. A VERY small room on the top floor. It was clean and nicely furnished but you couldn't move. The bathroom was a closet. One person could barely fit in it. The Innkeepers are lovely. They can't be... More

We were very pleased with our visit to the Hope and Glory. Our room (no. 3) was large and nicely furnished with an excellent bed and spacious private bath. bath. It had a semi-private balcony. The property was totally refurbished a few years ago by an innkeeper with excellent taste who obviously hired an excellent architect. Cottages are available in... More

We had a very nice stay in July 2013. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. The owners and staff were kind and very attentive. We went on the cocktail cruise on the Faded Glory which was fun. The cruise leaves from down the street so we used the hotel bicycles to get there. I was a bit disappointed to... More
