My husband and I decided to visit the Tides Inn for our anniversary and I had read mixed reviews but we had not visited the area in a number of years so decided to try it. Also, since it is AAA rated etc we thought it would be quite nice. Well, we were very disappointed with our room. First of... more

The rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding was held in the Cove Room at The Tides Inn. The entire event for 80 people went beautifully from the planning stage to the dinner itself! The food was excellent and the staff gracious! Many of the guest and the wedding party were staying at the Inn. I never heard a single complaint!... more

My significant other and I were looking for a quiet, romantic, tucked-away place to spend our three-year anniversary. We read and heard good things about the tides inn and its surroundings so we decided to spend it there. Before getting into the details, I would like to emphasize that we were overall very satisfied to have chosen the tides inn... more

We have visited this resort more than 15 times since our 1974, honeymoon. Our last 3 visits were disappointing. Our last night the room temperature remained in the mid eighties--I have a photo of the thermostat that I took about 8:00 am. The engineer blamed it on recent HVAC renovation that did not include air conditioning the halls. The following... more

I want to first thank you for your patronage of the Tides Inn, a Chesapeake Bay tradition since 1947. I was disappointed to learn of your past experience. Rest assured we take all feedback (both positive and not) and learn from the experience. We currently have a house exclusive event which began Monday and precludes us from having additional guests...

The Tides is a nice inn and resort. The area is absolutely gorgeous. The hotel sits right on the water (a creek of the Chesapeake Bay). The views are wonderful. I sat outside drinking coffee in the morning, and the serenity was inspiring. That said, I was a little surprised this is a AAA 4 diamond-rated hotel, and am concerned... more

We were pleased to see that your recent stay with us here at the Tides Inn was serene. The views here at the Tides Inn and throughout the Northern Neck region are a one-of-a-kind. I've spoken with many guests who have experienced the same level of peacefulness that you did while you were here. I was disappointed to learn of...

I spent Labor Day weekend at The Tides Inn with my wife and our 1 year old daughter. Overall we found the resort to be very pleasant and met our expectations. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a standard king room, it was a bit small but definitely livable for a weekend and had great view. However... more

I was pleased to see that you and your family found your recent visit to us to be pleasant. On many occasions, when speaking to guests we find the number one amenity that our guests mention are our staff, many who have been with us for decades! I discussed your remarks about our pool will with the food and beverage...

We spent a weekend (August 8-10) at the Tides Inn to have an easy getaway to celebrate our 1st anniversary and it was a fantastic trip! First, the drive down from DC was enjoyable and for those that are always caught up in the hustle & bustle of the city...at times you can forget how nice it is to have... more

We were pleased to have been a part of your perfect anniversary weekend. Many guests remark about the unique experience driving here in the Northern Neck region, which begins less than an hour out of Washington DC, when you take the Fredericksburg exit 126 off I-95S and travel either US-17S or Route VA-3E to the Tides Inn the ride is...

My father wanted to go to the Tides Inn so I booked rooms for my parents and my husband and I. The location near the creek is the best part of the resort. They offer complimentary water activities including paddle boats and canoes. Just sitting on the iron chairs under the large tree near the croquet field is great. And... more

Thank you forgiving us an opportunity to be a part of your summer leisure experience. I agree that being located on a peninsula provides a unique water experience. In addition to the complimentary watercraft you mention we also feature kayaks and golf equipment for our Executive Par 3 Golf Course. Being a premier Four Diamond Resort you will find our...

I was looking for a small boutique hotel to take my 80 year old mother for a long weekend. I had heard wonderful things about the Tide's Inn and I thought it would be an appropriate venue for both of us. When we arrived the valet was right out front to greet us and take care of our car. There... more

Thank you for recent visit to the Tides Inn, we are pleased you enjoyed a meal on the veranda. It is my favorite locale here at the resort since it faces west and provides phenomenal sunsets! There is nothing like a cool glass of lemonade after being on the road. In reference to your guestroom location since you requested an...

Visited the Tides Inn over July 4th weekend -- a quiet, respite away from home for a couple of nights, or so I hoped. The resort was at full capacity -- apparently -- and not equipped in any way to function at that level. Although, I really question whether or not they can function on an ordinary day. The room... more

We were disappointed to read this review. Fourth of July is a special time at the Tides Inn especially with our fireworks display which is the highlight not only for our guests but the entire Northern Neck as well. It is unfortunate that we failed to deliver the first class service we are known for to this guest. Sometimes, things...
