Tides in was on my bucket list. The advertisement photos are fabulous. The facility is weathered and not the quality one sees in all their photos. Updating & renovations are needed. The dining room staff and food were very nice. The view of the water is great. I would NOT visit again.

. We were happy about many wonderful experiences at the Tides Inn. The Dining room and Banquet food and service were excellent. The outdoor fire pits encouraged conversation over wine, beer and snacks. The view at sunset was well worth a three hour trip with traffic from Washington. The staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel like welcome guests.... More

The Tides Inn is a pleasant place to spend a weekend. The staff is ultra friendly. We went early December so maybe not the best time as far as activities but the resort did try to provide some fun things to do - roasting s'mores, bike riding, meditation, yoga, Frisbee golf and even cookies and milk. That said, I wouldn't... More

When we read the weather forecast for record warm temps in December 2015, we headed to The Tides Inn for a getaway overnighter. The king-sized room was on the veranda level, meaning that it opened directly onto a brick patio facing the water, with a bistro table and two chairs just one step outside our sliding glass door. We watched... More

Gorgeous weather this most recent post-Thanksgiving weekend, so we took full avail, had the boat tour of the King Carter Creek & surrounds. (Take the boat tour--see what's what in that area!) Then we languished (right word) on the inn's flagstone patio above the creek, toasting our toes against the fire pit, watching the sun go down while David (best... More

We attended the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce "Taste of the Bay" event held at the Tides Inn. We were met at the Inn's enterance by two very kind men who radioed ahead to announce our arrival. A happy and smiling man directed us to a spot where we could park our car and check in at the front desk. It... More

Wonderful stay at the Tides. The staff was always pleasant and willing to assist in any way possible. Really loved the bedding package - very comfortable. Room was clean - very nice bathroom/shower combo. The outdoor amenties were a welcome addition with nice comfortable seating, fire pits etc. The grounds are kept in immaculate shape. The spa was very nice... More

We rarely get away as a couple together, so this was a pretty big deal for us without the kids. We still talk about our trip all the time. Great room RIGHT OFF the water, beautiful views, nice on-site dining (try the Angry Oysters), great location relative to nearby museums and shopping. Incredibly relaxing, and we really enjoyed hanging out... More

Located on the "Northern Neck" of Virginia, the "resort" has a spa, golf 18 hole golf course, marina and daily activities. The grounds were well manicured and the water views are serene. The staff is friendly, professional and, from our experience, willing to go the extra step to ensure one's visit is enjoyable. However, it's hard to mask aging facilities,... More

Unless you have a strong emotional attachment to the Tides Inn of yore, don't waste your money. Even though it has never been a 5 star resort, it still charges 5 star rates. The management is in total disarray, so service is non-existent. The facilities, which have been deteriorating for years, ought to be torn down. The decor is "tired... More
