We stayed for three nights for a nice quick get away. All of the staff from the bellmen to the maids were very friendly and courteous. Our suite was located in the main building with a wonderful view of the river. The weather was so nice we even relaxed by the pool. Dinner in the main dining room was also... More

Our one-night stay was in beautiful fall weather. We ate lunch twice out on the restaurant patio with a beautiful view. Dinner in the main dining room was very good and since there were only a few guests in the hotel, service was swift. Our room, although small, was comfortable with nice finishes. It was on the first floor, main... More

We last visited here under previous ownership and were disgusted with maintenance and staff. Much improvement over last time for maintenance, sorta, staff is in need of better uniforms and adult management. Front desk staff was sometimes belligerent and indifferent displaying an attitude of too busy to deal with customers. Table wait staff needs a lot of training. Our server... More

Recently shot a wedding here and was warmly greeted by Inn staff, they were very accommodating, courteous and happy to be there. The lawns and scenery were wonderful as was the food and service at meals. There seems to be many activities here for adults and families. I look forward to spending a weekend here sometime!

While cruising the Chesapeake a couple weeks ago and facing at least two days of wind and rain we cruised into Carter Creek and spotted The Tides. Two rainy days at a delightful mini resort, with good food, bikes, even in the misty rain, a delightful community and very helpful and courteous dock staff. Only sorry we couldn't take advantage... My wife and i spent three nights at The Tides Inn after recommendations from several friends. We were not disappointed and in fact found this peaceful, serene setting a total joy. Our room looked out onto the marina and we enjoyed watching the activities of the sail boats and large power boats. A special fraternity. Our room was clean, quiet,... More

We went on a whim and were glad we did. The staff is gracious and considerate, the rooms are very nice. We enjoyed modest Stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking, and we sat by the pool. Considerable wildlife was about. The restaurant is excellent for all meals. Old-tidewater charm was in effect throughout our stay. We'll be going back.

While visiting my sister and husband in the Northern Neck of VA, they took me to a light Sunday evening dinner. It was a "10" night, cool, clear and the view of the water was sparkling as the sun set. The seating outside was perfect with comfortable tables and chairs around pit fires. The food was perfect and though we... More

I called there on Friday night for a quote and availability and needed the weekend to discuss it with my wife. I called first thing Monday morning to make the reservation and the reservation person would not honor the quote I was given on Friday. Oh well...I guess they are not that interested in my business. After reading some more... More

(A very detailed review as usual...) I had never heard of the Tides until I sent out a neighborhood listserv email looking for a beautiful place to bring my grandmother for her 90th. Everyone, including my neighbors, raved about it. My grandmother is going to FL but we went with a friend (and her dog) for Labor Day. If your... More
