We had a wonderful visit to The Tides Inn this Christmas. The property is beautiful. The rooms are nicely appointed. And the staff is just incredible. They're friendly, always willing to help, and adept at anticipating needs. We love taking the bikes out for a ride around town. It's gorgeous nearby and definitely worth exploring. We look forward to returning... More

The Tides just speaks to the heart of a perfect escape, waterfront location, small town charm and excellent service, unmatched and consistently superb...all within the confines of personal care. The daily activities are diverse, the dining room and bar are trendy with creative meals and beverages, and the on site spa and dock allow for complete enjoyment. You find yourself... More

We stayed at The Tides Inn because we were attending a wedding in Virginia. The hotel is very picturesque and we had a nice lunch on the patio. However our room definitely needed updating and our connecting door had to be fixed by maintenance because it was jammed shut. The handle for the shower also fell off while my son... More

My apologies for this experience. I am sorry I do not recall this incident but I am always happy to speak with guests about any issues they have and we strive to make things right. Rooms are guaranteed with a credit card, authorization is taken on arrival, and charges are submitted upon check-out. Bank holidays delay reimbursement of authorisations by... More

Played golf at their club and ate at their restaurant, but Christmas was the first time we had dstayed here. A wonderful experience, Room was large and well laid out. All the amenities are in place from shampoo, hand lotion, cotton balls and swabs and hair dryers. Very nice vanity and rest room area. Towels are plush and plentiful. We... More

After experiencing the Tides Inn as a business visitor on a number of occasions, I had the opportunity to return with my wife for a mini-weekend visit. The wonderful people, and the charming resort of an earlier time, that are the Tides Inn rewarded us with an experience my wife simply defined as "delicious." After being pampered by the amazing... My wife, two young boys(ages 6 and 8) and I spent a wonderful 3 nights at The Tides in late October. The food in the dining room was amazing to say the least. There were lots of activities to keep the kids busy. All the staff were so nice and accomodating. The room we stayed in was quiet and clean... More

You are right there is a plethora of activities for all the family and I can see your boys enjoying every minute of their stay, Of course we prefer them to enjoy outdoor activities wherever possible rather than too many computer games!., maybe other visitors would agree. We spent Thanksgiving here. We had a delicious dinner and breakfast the next day. Staff is one of the friendliest we have encountered at a hotel. They really enjoy their jobs. Resort has a lovely location. Right on the water. If you are looking for night life, this isn't the place for you. However, if you want a relaxing vacation,... More

An old Virginia resort that was once the premier destination in the area. It still retains some of its charm but seems to have lost a lot of its lustre and attention to detail. It's location is a beautiful perch overlooking Carter's creek which is just off of the Rappahannock river. It's worth a visit, but be prepared to be... More

We recently had the good fortune to spend a few days at The Tides Inn. It was luxurious! After traveling on the East Coast we were ready to relax. That is exactly what we found. When making reservations at a scenic resort, I now ask for relatively easy walking access (to entrance, elevator, dining) but view is priority. I choose a room several levels up from standard (meaning I paid for it). Very disappointed to find that half my "harbor view " was actually looking down on the roof of the bar area. So disappointing.... More

I am sorry we did not call you after your arrival but please always remember it is never too late to ask us to step up and satisfy your needs, it is what we are here for. Every room has a different view and the main focus from your room is a panoramic view of the creek to the Rappahannock... More
