This was our first experience staying at a Bed&Breakfast. We enjoyed it very much.We loved the victorian style home. The room we stayed in had a pleasant feel about it.It had a fireplace(gas logs)and a very comfortable bed. However it was hard to choose which room to stay in,because the others looked great too.Oh well there's always next time. The staff was very pleasant... We were lucky to have this great place recommended to us by the folks at the nearby Galax, VA visitor's center! We found the Inn to be an excellent value, with an added bonus of an equally excellent restaurant. As others here have stated, the house and grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The innkeeper, Jim, is extremely knowledgable... More

We stayed here for a weekend spent riding on the Virginia Creeper Trail and winetasting. For $59, this can't be beat. The views are wonderful, and we had a lovely dinner outside on the wraparound porch. Each room has its own bathroom and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

If you are travelling this way, stay here! Welcoming staff, lovely rooms, friendly service. This was great value for money - we would have happily paid more. We had an evening meal in the restaurant - great food. Break was light - help yourself to cereals and pastries - ok to get yourself going. The house and grounds have history... More

From the moment we drove into the parking lot, we were enchanted by this B&Bs beauty. The 1865 Victorian mansion sits on 10 acres overlooking the town with expansive views of the blue ridge mountains. The grounds include huge old hardwoods and a small cemetery where the wife and two children of the original owner are buried. When we walked... More

We stayed at the Davis Bourne Inn the weekend of July 29 and had a wonderful time. The new owner is gracious and welcoming. We had dinner on the veranda with our friends and the food was delicious! Highly recommend the Inn! We'll be back!

We stayed here one night during our drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Davis-Bourne Inn is comfortable, the food is quite good, and the prices are great. Nice view from the rooms upstairs. The owner and staff are quite friendly. The restaurant has an interesting menu, with good selections of beer (with several microbrews) and wine. They were quite... More

We are locals but always refer friends and family to the Davis Bourne Inn and Journey's End Restaurant! You will find Taphne (the owner) always welcoming and gracious. We are regulars at the restaurant and cannot wait until it warms up so we can sit on the front porch (overlooking the mountains) with a nice glass of wine and our... More

Davis Bourne Inn is a beautiful historic house and very impressive with it’s wrap around veranda, sitting high up over-looking Independence. Sitting on the veranda we can see the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. Each room has its own character. We stayed in the Davis Room which has a turret with curved windows from which you can experience beautiful... More

We arrived rather late to find a beautiful Victorian Bed and Breakfast with gracious hosts who prepared a delicious salmon dinner. After a good sleep we were treated to another wondeful meal--breakfast. Note: Be sure to get good directions when the reservation is made--our GPS got us close but not there.
